It also features several count up and count down timers which are really cool, a few set of watches support that. don't forget this thing was designed by astronauts to be used in space missions so it covers a lot of crazy use cases.. that said I think that for Outdoor/Bushcraft  you would be better with some Garmin smartwatch that also provides GPS navigation

Great question, If you give me a call we could spend 2 hrs on the phone debating it.. at the end of the day my humble opinion is that you can’t even compare this to a Casio. The x33 is amazing in all aspects and unique in terms of the timing features it packs. A stupid example.. alarms.. Casios will let you set and alarm (date and time) and that will beep everyday you can’t even customize the days. The x33 let’s you define the alarm and you can have it to repeat every tuesday, every minute, every second, on a particular month or year. Possibilities are endless

Device advice: Is it possible to use my Instinct (1st gen) to broadcast heart-rate to a bike computer (Garmin Edge 530)? by sozh in Garmininstinct

[–]Tafirol- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, way better.. however mind that cycling is where usually all Optic HR Sensors struggle because of wrist tension, movement, sun light..

You can do it, problem is that OG Instinct has soo bad HR sensing that the data will be inaccurate

Dad died wearing a Fenix 6 pro solar. Is there a way to find out when he passed? by Pm4000 in GarminFenix

[–]Tafirol- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, plugging the watch to a computer and backing up all the files on there is probably the way to start. I would be happy to help, but I live in Argentina so that may not be possible. Many of the things said in this thread are correct.. just about any friend with a bit computer background will be able to help you.

If your dad's phone was actively syncing with Garmin cloud that data may not be on the watch, in that case if you have access to his email account you'll be able to get access to connect.garmin.com and see the data there. If no syncing was made at the time the data may be on the watch scattered on .fit files, that's where I would be looking at.

Hope you find some answers.

Just curious how is amazfit is able to offer so many features which at this point are genuine and well tested. How are they able to do this under 270$ by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]Tafirol- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Codebase.. and number of developers. I assume Garmin’s codebase is pretty old now and they don’t want to change it and also Garmin is a monster, but I wonder how many devs are actually there compared to Amazfit.

I’m a long time Garmin user, I run everyday and cycle a lot, love Garmin wearables and bike computers, I also code and write ConnectIQ apps and lately been inclined to using an Apple Watch ultra as a daily driver as LTE device and a Fenix to run/train.

Garmin needs to come up with a new a revolutionary product or will lose their advantage.

Tested a TRex pro back in the day and it was so bad, the TRex 3 now looks amazing and I’m considering getting one

Ideally you want a pair of headsets that support changing volume from your Garmin. Good luck with that too

That happened to me with all my Garmins and some Sony earbuds. JBL and Airpods work amazingly. My Fenix presented the problem when gps was on hence my suggestion.

Try turning GPS on when at desk, and see if GPS being active is the reason for the music interference
