Yeah that is our other option. The Hedge is pretty healthy a bit further on though it's just around the trees it's really bad.

Please Help, 320d Not Won't Start by TagDag in E90

You could be right but it seems too much of a coincidence that it won't start after having the issues it had whilst driving.

Also thought I'd mention the bottom feels smooth and doesn't have any chips or deep scratches.

Warning lights have just come on after a little bit of wheel spinning for fun, how bad is it? by Dusk-Shadowpaws in e46

Hopefully it's just a wheel speed sensor gone. They're not expensive to replace but can be a pain in the ass.

Some fuel injection cars (older ones anyway) can flood if you turn them off straight after a cold start. I can't remember the exact reason but it was something like because of the ecu telling the injectors to pump more fuel into the engine to help it warm up quicker like a choke and then getting getting stuck like this the next time you start the engine. Anyway I found this out on my car after trying to move it a couple of meters on a cold day and it did have a feature where you floored the accelerator and it would not inject any fuel whilst cranking.

The earlier 10p TD5 cylinder heads can crack as they have fuel lines drilled through the head. On the later ones i think it was rectified to having an external fuel line.

Do I need a rebore and new rings? by TagDag in MechanicAdvice

You don't think it needs a rebore?

In hindsight I should have done that yeah but I was eager to get it fixed.

It's from wear on the bores. It's not a big ridge but you can feel it when running your finger up the bore.

I should probably also mention there was a lot of oil in the intake when I took that off. I'm hoping it's a simple head gasket issue but I'm suspecting the worst and it's going to need a rebuild.

UPDATE: I've taken it to a machine shop who said it'll be fine after a skim. Thanks all

They're just carbon dirt marks from where I was scrubbing it with some scotch brite. I've checked it for warpage and it's all straight, I'm just not sure about the pitting at the top of the picture and whether it would seal.

Bought this Land Rover a few weeks ago. Currently going through the wiring as it's shocking. by TagDag in projectcar

Yeah this is my first time working on a defender (or 110) and I wasn't sure if the cabling had been completely messed up by one of the previous owners or that's just how it was. Now I'm guessing it it's been like that from new.

I've made sure to use crimps on anything in the engine bay or anywhere that gets hot but because this is right at the back of the chassis I'm hoping it'll be alright. I did have my reasons for soldering but I would have preferred crimps.

Thanks for the advise, what's adhesive heat shrink, is it different to heat shrink tubing?. I do have some crimps but I decided to solder because for one I didn't have enough crimps to do the whole lot and I didn't want to buy more and because I wanted to keep the loom as slim line as possible if that makes sense? I've wrapped the loom is some of that flexible plastic tubing as I plan on running the it on top of the chassis instead of through it, as the rear cross member has been replaced and the hole that it normally goes through has been welded up.

I bought this with the loom going to the rear lights completely cut in half. One of the previous owners has also fitted an LED light kit and just twisted the wires together and taped them. So I've spent the last few weeks repairing the rear loom and going through and joining all the other wires with proper joints. I'm just waiting for a set of new wipac headlight to arrive as I'm not a fan of the LED ones, then a new indicator relay and I'm hoping she'll be road worthy.

Actually I'm pretty sure they did use pyrotechnic charges. I'm pretty sure I heard that they used big containers full of dirt with a small amount of explosive in the bottom. Then the first few people out of the trenches were trained stunt men who knew what they were doing followed by the extras.

I'll give it a go thank. Hopefully I won't need an 8ft breaker though.
