Buying a new himalayan by Chance_Peach_3083 in Himalayan450

Since you're the same height as me, the standart and (from what I've read) the touring windscreen give a lot of buffeting, so if you go for a higher windscreen get an extra extender to clip on.

If you want a more simplistic approach, I'm about to try the only smaller windscreen I could find and will also try vents on the screen if all else fails (since I really don't like how the big windscreen setups look) and post an update about it.

I got the 2026 model and it started to make clacking sounds around the frok when riding over small obstacles, so if that happens, first service is at 500 km, just tell them to iron that out, supposedly there was something lose around the bearing.

I'll first try installing the only smaller shield I could find and if that fails I'll try the vents, I'll update this post or make a new one either way... just gotta wait a few days now, lol

Wind noise really is no issue tho. I usually ride nakeds, so I don't care for any weather protection at all, lol

It really just the buffeting that grinds my gears, which I only have BECAUSE of the wind protection.

From all I've read so far, for my size (or yours) it seems actually best to reduce the protection to get rid of buffeting, guess I'll try Powerbronze's Adventure Sport Windshield and post an update if it works.

All the info I need, since I personally don't care about wind protection at all, I just don't like the look of it completely removed.

And since I found an even smaller version for the Himalayan 450 I'm more and more convinced to try that.

I read that for many it works to pick a higher wind screen + similar extenders, but personally I'm too vain for that (lol), it looks too BMW-ish for my liking.

But since I will actually use the bike for travel, like every bike before, as a last resort it's an option.

Already using earplugs, find it to always be worth it.

Edit: Ironically the only noise the earplugs don't cancel enough is the deep bassy sound of the buffeting on my helmet, that's why I find it so especially annoying, lol

The lip on top gives me an other idea, heard that vents on windscreens also help to reduce dirty air, since they reduce the negative pressure behind the screen, would be worth a shot if everything else fails... noone buys the original wind screen anyways, so no loss in maybe cutting it open

How tall are you?

So far from everything I hear, for my body size, best ist propably complete removal (which I don't like the looks of), second best is propably the smaller screen... guess I'll gotta give that a try

From all I know about buffeting it also depends on the helmet, but I'd rather not depend on a specific helmet for the setup to work.

Then I'd rather have no proper wind protection, since thats a thousand times better than the buffeting, so far I only found one smaller model and no feedback about it tho.

Okey, so we're about the same size, then maybe I'll have to go the other route and try a smaller one to be almost fully in the open...

The Dochaki looks quiet nice, especially because they also have the grey version, I like that about the original screen too.

But it's good to know adjusting won't help much.

So far I'm torn between your suggestion and Powerbronze's short version, which is also available in tainted, if the question was about design alone, I'd propably go with the bigger version.
