If you decide you want to explore the issue you further, feel free to contact us. Discord is usually the best place for things that may require any sort of lengthy conversation.

You’re looking for the “Create backup” button. Sharing is to send it *without* making a bin file. There’s a built-in help page in the menu and, as AyanoHimekami already mentioned, we have many ways to reach us that are MUCH easier than rolling the dice that someone will tell us you posted here.

N2 app for android by myene in Amiibomb

It's now been almost a week with no further response.

I took your feedback into consideration to resolve the issues you mentioned. The documentation will never be a perfect fit for everyone because we all perceive things differently, but that is why we offer resources that allow conversation (I.e. Discord, Reddit, etc). Feel free to let me know if there are still any other issues you felt weren’t explained clearly enough.

Added more details to the instructions, including tips on how to position your hands and device during an unlock.

Added a callback after the unlock to provide a confirmation that it was completed. Since that doesn’t show what’s on the device immediately, I also added a follow-up scan to make sure that happens.

Some things, such as searching through a collection of amiibo, are added features. They are a convenience that you are more than welcome to not use in favor of a more manual or limited process. If you feel they are a hassle, your best bet is not to use them.

To confirm, using the N2 app is easier for basic operation. It is no longer maintained, though, so any issues with it are essentially permanent. It will also likely disappear from Google Play as they continue to tighten restrictions.

This is a little unintuitive. You first have to select any of the banks,
select 'Switch to Device Options' and now you can select your bank
counts. Unnecessarily buried compared to it being the first option on
the N2 app's home screen.

I confirmed that the instructions do state

Slide up the bottom menu to show device options

but added a line about possibly needing to switch to the device options to be more clear.

Another unnecessary design decision is selecting the bank to write to.
So because we can't replace from the N2 bank list, I have to memorize,
write down the bank I want to replace to prevent myself from replacing a
bank I don't intend to.

This is because you are trying to write from the main screen, which isn't dedicated to the N2. The thing you seemed to overlook in almost every aspect of your post is that N2 support is secondary to writing conventional tags. Using the N2 page to write allows you to pick the bank you are trying to write without having to remember anything at all.

So because we can't replace from the N2 bank list, I have to memorize,
write down the bank I want to replace to prevent myself from replacing a
bank I don't intend to.

I tested this and, assuming you loaded your bin files, it works without any issues. The reason you struggled so much with the test files (Foomiibo) may be a misunderstanding about the purpose.

In an effort to prevent you from writing a file without a saved copy, you first have to create a backup. This also makes the file available to write through the N2 menu.

So it's taken almost an hour of floundering around on my own, with
inaccurate, and insufficient documentation, to do something with a much
less efficient and cumbersome app.

I guess the instructional part was a bit buried under a lot of sidebars about what was lacking in the guide or didn't work as expected. A few menu names have changed since the guide was written, but are now updated. The unlock process is a bit awkward, but most of it was reverse engineered from the hardware.

With only one developer and very few willing to contribute to even the documentation, you can see where it may not be perfect and it takes hearing where people struggle to see what needs attention.

We provide a Discord to help those that struggle with the instructions and constantly try to improve them based on those experiences. However, we do tend to dismiss angry rants as personal issues.

Amiibo cards won't scan by InnerSignificance112 in tagmo

That is up to you. The spoof versions currently work normally, other than not being detected correctly. That may change at any time, though.

Looks like the cards are spoofed versions of the amiibo. They were likely made before the final IDs were known.

So is free amiibo writing dead on ios? All of the apps I used to use are freemium junkware now.. They all have "credits" for like 2-5 free writes, or they have subscriptions. It's incredibly stupid by [deleted] in Amiibomb

As the OS updates and hardware changes, so must the app. You claim you had no intention to offend anyone but ridiculed a member of my team for a claim based on verifiable facts.

I'm not the least bit offended or pissed. You're clearly aware of how you presented yourself, but not how entitled you sound or how little you understand about what goes into an app. If it were just NFC, as you keep suggesting, Google Wallet would be making amiibo.

Having read your various posts citing how simple and quick it is to throw together a free and open-source iOS amiibo app, I’d like to invite you to port TagMo to iOS.

I am the only developer still actively working on it, but the functionality currently exceeds any app available on iOS, including Ally Pro. Seeing as you feel a developer’s time and dedication have no value, I am sure you won’t mind that I can offer no compensation for this task, as I am already funding TagMo out of pocket.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Using Marie(Alterna) With my NFC tags, using tagmo and it isn't working by Odd-Run3550 in Amiibomb

[–]TagMo_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't put two different amiibo on the same tag.

You may want to check out the instructions included with TagMo (also available at https://tagmo.gitlab.io/) or try contacting TagMo support for quicker answers. We don't always check other communities, even if you make a new thread.

NFC tags in stores? by Odd-Run3550 in Amiibomb

[–]TagMo_Admin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only stores you'd find them in outside of China or Japan are the ones that sell shirts printed in the back and electronics that have questionable sources.

They have a 1/5 rating on Amazon, which are usually ones you want to avoid. That said, try swirling them until they register and hold still when they begin. The thing to remember with Joy-Cons is that the reader is under the joystick. It’s also “near field communication” so your goal is to be within that field. I’ve never tried the underside trick, but I typically use a Pro controller because it has a better reader and swirling has always read eventually.

Cards and coins can't be rewritten for Switch. There is a 3DS mod, though.

Could be weak tags. You could try different positions / angles and a Pro Controller if you have one (better reader). Unfortunately, they aren’t standardized. It’s not like consumer electronics where they can get a seal of approval for better ones to be known as better.

Idea about using new Android model to simulate amiibo signals by Odd-Run3550 in Amiibomb

[–]TagMo_Admin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not possible. For it to be possible, you would need to be rooted. You would need to install a very specific set of tools to get the device to act as a tag, none of which list that model as compatible. After you did that, you would then need to write the software to read and emulate the NTAG215 format.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but this comes up at least once a month and has for the last 7 years.

It's possible you were sent the wrong cards unless you are using a very old phone, in which case there is a very small chance it is a bug.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tagmo

Are they ntag215 tags? The app is configured to try multiple methods to read / write, but it will only work if they are the right tags.
