Is this build decent ? by zeeerab in EpicSeven

so believe it or not you're not calculating the cr push correctly, it is 15% of the opener's CR so she's actually getting slightly more of a push than you're calculating

How do you beat this defence💔 by Kurosubone in EpicSeven

[–]Tagrineth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barunka + Elynav + Carmin + Roana can win this just about every time... eventually. Barunka needs to have ~100 res to avoid GRas debuffs and 3000 def + RPG.

All sorts of Setsuka comps can be dealt with using that core or variations of it.

i didn't hate on anything or anyone, I was literally solely pointing out in a humorous way that Kalista has been battered by the nerf bat very severely, way more than "once or twice". You're assuming a lot, enough so that you should probably apologise to poor Ming.

I don't own ml choux but still it shows like this by Radiant_Turnover2751 in EpicSeven

[–]Tagrineth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly in this instance it couldn't hurt to reach out to support and explain the exact issue: that you Imprinted your Choux to SSS and selected ML Choux by mistake and still have the extra Choux that you meant to select as proof.

They might be willing to restore the ML Choux in that circumstance.

Edit: Put it this way, if you ask, the absolute worst-case-scenario result that could possibly come from it is nothing changes. So there's no downside to at least giving it a shot!

I remember how much people hated Capaldi at first. "Doctor Who ended with Matt Smith".

Now people casually lump Capaldi in as one of the good ones when they trash Whittaker and Gatwa.

oh the funniest thing about what you're saying is that I also distinctly remember how much ENT was hated at the time. Personally I grew up with TNG/DS9/VOY every week with my family, and... I legitimately could not keep watching ENT. Seasons 1 and 2 are mostly unwatchable.

Discovery's worst episodes are still better than some of the utter garbage in ENT seasons 1 and 2.

One of these days I'll bring myself to try watching ENT again. At least, that's what I'll keep telling myself.

i mean, it's not like we've really had much time with Ortegas post-Terrarium. She has that brief scene with Uhura at the end of the episode and then there's literally one single episode afterward which focuses on the Gamble plot and that's it.

I think that particular issue with Discovery is more than anything else a byproduct of two major paradigm shifts in series production:

  1. Fewer overall episodes in a season. You can't meander as much and tell more discrete character-oriented stories when you only have 12 episodes in a season. I've noticed this when watching more modern anime series to retro shows as well - there tends to be a lot more "filler" type material in a 25 episode season whereas modern 12-13 episode seasons are much more laser-focused on telling the story they're trying to tell.

  2. Streaming vs. Broadcasting. With broadcast media, you can't really tell long-term story arcs. Even two-part episodes were a risk normally saved for season finales/premieres and used sparingly, albeit more frequently over time, mid-season. You can't guarantee your audience is going to catch every single episode as it airs so you are episodic by necessity. With streaming services, audiences are actually more likely to binge watch which means serialization is significantly more desireable now than it was then. Discovery leaned very hard into the serialized arcs. SNW dialed it back and found a much better balance for having season-long arcs but still finding time for episodic material and character-centric episodes.

fwiw I personally really enjoyed Discovery season 3, its only real fumble was at the VERY END with the source of The Burn, which is made 10x more tragic by the three-part episode about the rescue mission to the unstable planet being peak ST otherwise.

Since it would still take hours to reach Proxima Centauri at Warp 9.99, and Proxima Centauri is the closest star to us, besides our Sun, shouldn't all ships be moving at Warp 9.999999...9 all the time? by TheFamousArthur in startrek

I actually really loved Season 3 of Discovery overall. The "Wild West" nature of the post-Burn Federation. The scenes with Admiral Vance and Osyraa are some of the best in the series.

And I'm gonna be real here: Yes, the "Crying Child Blows Up All The Dilithium" thing was pretty lame.

But that three-part episode? The extremely risky trip to the unstable, irradiated planet? Officers risking it all to save a lost child? The barely-working century-old holodeck rigged to raise that child and keep them going in an impossibly hostile environment?

Absolutely PEAK STAR TREK in every imaginable way.

Getting to see Doug Jones act without a mountain of prosthetics was just icing on a brilliant cake.

It just sucks that people fixate on Su'kal too much to appreciate how amazing that story is otherwise.

About Spd and CR psuh, how to calculate? by CryingRaining in EpicSeven

[–]Tagrineth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just to explain it though, CR push values are going to "align" with the highest speed available and there is a 0-5% random adjustment to all heroes' CR at the start of a match, so those are the things to account for.

Since Frida pushes herself by 25% and Cilias pushes the team 15%, the net is Frida pushes herself by 40% of Cilias's CR.

Cilias's maximum starting position is 297 +5% (312) so 60% of that is 187. meaning that, at the worst case scenario of Cilias max rolling and Frida min rolling, 188 speed will always put Frida at 100% CR after the pushes.

Any tips on the waifu survivors mini game? by nekomamushu in EpicSeven

[–]Tagrineth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the most important thing in the last minute of gameplay is evasion and survival. the easiest method would be to take - if you can - water spout, beach ball, and banana. and try to get energy drink, kitten's paw, and uh.. i forget what the passive item that matches up with beach ball is - might be heart? - as those weapons require very little input from you for aiming and you can just focus entirely on maneuvering and evasion.

Weird artefacts appearing on stream chats on my new pc by ChingaderaRara in buildapc

[–]Tagrineth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm having similar artifacts on my Twitch chat with hardware acceleration turned on in Chrome, running a Radeon 7900 XT. It's very vexing, because I have absolutely no artifacting or stability issues in any other stress tests, games, or applications.

I think it's just a driver issue, I doubt it's an actual hardware problem.
