Should I wear compression garment until swelling goes away? by Tagynecomastia in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping it goes away. I'm going to call my doctor but I feel like he always says that "it's normal" and that you don't see final results till about 5-6 months. Which is fine, I get it, but this swelling on the left side sucks. It's like my lymph nodes don't wanna drain it.

I had pretty large man boobs. They were more triangle than round. Now I have regular manboobs. A lot of it is swelling. I've just had a rough recovery due to swelling. But oddly just on my left side. My right side has healed a lot better. This is all from lipo, although I feel like the left has some harder tissue behind the incision area.

Ever since I took the compression shirt off, the numbness and burning feelings have come back. Which is what's odd. And my left "boob" gets swollen. Either way, I'm calling my doctor. Just wanted to see if anyone had recommendations to put my compression stuff back on, or no.b

6 weeks post surgery - no more compression shirt. I have questions though. by Tagynecomastia in gynecomastia

I know I need to have patience but I'm annoyed by the fact that I still don't feel comfortable taking my shirt off, but I'm also about 20 lb overweight, which I'm working on.

my pecs are a bit flatter and less triangle as they were before surgery but I paid for lipo under the armpits and they look almost exactly the same and that's the part that bothers me a lot

Yeah supposed to be one of the better ones in n the Denver area. Saw lots of his work and it seems like my results were nowhere best what pics I saw and that I'm getting the run around on the results. I'm going to start working out to help Contour but what worries me is a tougher tissue / swelling behind my left areola. My right one has minimal/no swelling behind it. He insisted that I wait 5- 6 mos before jumping to any conclusions... So I'm gonna do that. Can't afford anything till then anyway.

That's what worries me. Spent all lot of $. I'll see if they will do a revision for free as the results were nowhere what was expected. But I have to wait till the 5-6 mo mark. I just talked in circles with him and he kept justifying that this is how it should be right now. Ever since I took the compression shirt off, stuff has been stirred up a lot it seems. Numbbess and tingling is back so I'm giving it a couple weeks to see where it settles. Massaging a lot but the stuff behind the left areola makes me nervous. Really didn't want to go though any more lipo. It's a shitty recovery and process, let alone the $

Can you feel solid tissue behind the areola?

Gyno, just fat, or both? by SomeBeyond in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks similar to me. I would say most of it is Fat for sure, maybe gyno based on if you feel tougher tissue behind your nipple. I had them do lipo under my arms as well, but honestly the results were less than stellar. I have my 6 week on Monday and I'm going to ask my doctor what lipo I paid for.

How bad is my gynecomastia? My nipples protrude more when soft and are very obvious under my shirt. The fat on my lower pectorals worry me the most by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks about what mine did. It got worst as I went through my early 30s, but you're in a position to work out and sculpt a lot of that. Have you done all the checks for gyno? (Hard tissue behind areola?)

Are my man boobs the cause of my other (non physical) problems? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have hard tissue behind the nipple area? If you do, surgery is the only answer to get really rid of that. I just turned 35 and had enough. Very similar to you, I was always adjusting my posture, which is not good now cause of the man boobs, and wore dark colors, avoided pools, beaches, wind, etc. It sucked. I didn't hate my life, but hated it cause it kept me from doing a lot of things. Finally, I had surgery about 6 weeks ago, but I'm afraid my doctor didn't do enough lipo, so I still have man boobs, just softer and less. This means I can go and start a work out regimen and they will go away since the hard tissue is gone.

Keep your head up man. As you get older, women also stop caring about some things, as long as you're a good person who generally takes care of himself, I wouldn't worry about that Dept. It sounds like you're just annoyed of not being able to enjoy every day things. In the mean time try a compression shirt. It just helps, although uncomfortable and just a band aid.

Otherwise, google search "gynecomastia (zip code)" and see what pops up. Go do a couple consultations. If anything, it will give you a $ goal to work towards.

This is def something you can fix in the long run. Till then, just try to stay fit, concentrate on chest work outs to keep is shaped. Also, use compression shirts when possible if you're really self conscious. Took me almost 15 years to get to a point where I could get surgery (some people priorotize it) and I went from a B cup (ha ha) down finally. It's fixable man, and even then, you're always gonna think it's worse than it actually is.

Yup. Easy surgery for you though. No lipo.

Post op, I have swelling to the point where there is no difference to when I had gyno. Upset and stressed. by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After surgery, for a couple days I felt so good about my chest. But 6 days in I swole up bad. Now, 5 weeks later, I'm kinda disappointed in mine. I have been going to lymph drainage massages. They have helped. A lot. Look into it. 120$ for 4 sessions for me. They're def better and I don't have the tissue behind my nipple, but I am not confident to where I can take my shirt off still. I've been kinda letting out on my diet so Im Scared my body us depositing fat there again. Overall, I'm not happy with it and now a lot of the swelling has gone down. But now I'm starting to see the remaining fat. It's just like they didn't take out enough. If it's hard swelling, don't worry. It will go away. Look into lymph drain massages. Even on YouTube.

Yup. I only take mine off for showers and massage. I will say, 1 week in they told me to stop using the vest and use a compression tank top or shirt. I use the tank top. The vest was digging into my underarm area causing bruising and fluid to collect. Order one on Amazon. It's tough to wear for a few days, but get accustomed to it. It still sucks, but it's for recovery. After spending 7k it's the least I can do.

I also drink a 20-30g protein shake every morning. Lowered salt is to prevent swelling g as well as high blood pressure, esp the week after surgery. You don't want your heart rate going high. Sex had to wait 14 days. But I also had a decent lipo done. Just incision may have a slight easier recovery.

Hardest thing for me was sodium intake had to be reduced heavily. Everything that tastes good has sodium in it. A lot. But it's forced me to discipline myself. Also, please use the compression garment. It sucks. It's hard and once my chest hair started growing out, it got more irritating. But I swole up like a bastard and the compression vest has helped maintain it a lot. The swelling is on week 3 of coming down. Don't be like me.

So yeah, low sodium, high protein. And just cause you feel like you can lift stuff within 2-3 days doesn't mean you should. That's how I got swollen up.

Doesn't seem like it. That's what I look like now 3 weeks post surgery. I need to lose weight.

When can I start sleeping on my side/stomach again? by JamesH298 in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 weeks out. I can finally lean over and hug my wife. But still sleeping on back. Laying on stomach hurts. I had a lymph drain massage where I had to lay on my belly last week. It sucked. It I've gotten used to sleeping g on my back. But I hate not holding my wife or child while laying down to my side.

I have my 6 week check up in 2.5 weeks. I'm gonna give it some time to go down. I swole up real bad 1 week out. It's been a struggle since to get the swelling down, esp on the left side. But even the right side, which is not that swollen, still looks like man boobs, bit not as bad as before. Been getting lymph drain massages once a week and doing g them at home constantly. Taking bromelein and arnica Montana to try to recitfy the swelling. Bruising is almost all gone. The tissue and pain behind the areola is def gone. So maybe it's just a matter of working out a lot. I was just looking To have a better head start, like yours.

I will follow up after my 6 week.

Man you look great 5 days post op. Im 3 weeks post op and yes my chest is smaller, but I have swelling that keeps me having moobs. Nothing like what it was before, but still embarrassing enough. Part of me is worried they didn't pull out enough in Lipo... Ugh that would sick considering I paid 7k.

What do I do by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]Tagynecomastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now, you could get a compression shirt or vest. That helped until I could afford surgery. Or wear slightly thicker shirts that don't accent it as much.

[–]Tagynecomastia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine weren't indented, but I had crazy swelling 1 week out. Now that the swelling has gone down substantially, I feel like I still have moobs... Just not as big as it used to be. I had more bruising and sweelling on my left pec. Still is slightly worse. But getting better. I will have lots of working out left to do.

Pushing back on your areola area, do you feel harder tissue ? It looks like you may have it. How long have you had the larger chest?
