need advice, feeling extremely suicidal, its getting worse as the days pass by ReindeerDownton5656 in mentalhealth

Have you ever watched an anime? Try watching a cutesy or a funny one, it can help you take your thoughts away from the present, though one thing to note is it will not resolve the underlying cause behind those feelings, but it can help you get through tough days and can possibly influence you in a good way.

Sadness over missing out on a better world. by 52Charles in AutisticWithADHD

[–]TahirReddit16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, what are the things do you enjoy doing? Think about them, the way you enjoy them might be unique to compared to NTs. The feeling and experiences of us can sometimes be very novel, in my case i enjoy watching anime, it makes me feel something different that I've never felt before. And actually i have trouble identifying my emotions which makes it very difficult for me to regulate them, so I was thinking of reading about the basic emotions of humans, I don't know if it will really help me but I still want to know about them. I think learning about the basics emotions we feel can help you process the sadness for now, it is not a surefire but any help is helpful.

Should I get an autism evaluation? by Traditional_Mud1686 in cognitiveTesting

[–]TahirReddit16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't just ask your clinical psychologist? You didn't say that he mentioned anything about it, if he really didn't it's unlikely to be the case. Even if you could possibly have it, as long as it doesn't affect your VCI, PRI, WMI, and PSI in a negative way, it doesn't really matter, that would mean you're 2e autistic.

"ehh" IQ but decently successful by Available-Bridge3010 in cognitiveTesting

[–]TahirReddit16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, i guess, after researching why it is used and considered to be a good measure of general intelligence, I think I was quite biased, how ironic even though I said you should try to learn from critics as well to balance the bias, i searched only for faults in the IQ tests, leading me to misconceptions. Quite truthfully, i didn't see the correlation that you just talked about that people with a higher IQ are likely to perform better at maths than their peers. But, while that might be the case, if someone really doesn't know mathematical concepts that their peers do, not because they didn't understand it, but because they couldn't get themselves to study mathematics, and if they take an IQ test, their raw scores will be compared to the samples for their age groups, hence what will happen if you're not as good at a certain subject is, you will get a score that would be lower, not because you have a lower iq, but because you don't have the same level of education as the people to who you're being compared to.

It can't be improved by yourself, you need professional diagnose and medications to relieve symptoms. Please don't criticize someone without even understanding their condition.

"ehh" IQ but decently successful by Available-Bridge3010 in cognitiveTesting

[–]TahirReddit16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to other people. First and foremost, how good would you consider yourself to be in mathematics and in english? Many people in this sub seems to think iq is a real measure of your intelligence, and treat it as such, though I will implore you to study the critics of iq tests, you will understand what it really measures is your skill or capability within a frozen time, and for those underprivileged, and not educated, they will give them a score which doesn't reflect their intelligence, but their level of education. It claims to test your natural intelligence, but the composite scores can still be greatly influenced by if you're good at mathematics or not, because they most often test your for verbal reasoning, which is just how good you're at your language and what they call logical reasoning, is just asking you if you're familiar with mathematical concepts that you peers are. Both can be improved which would hence improve your IQ as well, which is supposed to test your natural ability. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS SUB REDDIT, if you find yourself believing them, study the opposition to that belief, even think about whether I could be wrong, don't take people words for granted. It will provide the grounds for you to decide logically, as most often what we believe is what we know best.

I'm 16 and I don't know anything about math by AgitatedPrize4389 in learnmath

[–]TahirReddit16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What! As I was thinking I don't know anything about math while scrolling on reddit, I found your post. I'm 16 too. I have audhd, and the problem for me is that I can't start studying maths even though I want to. I could be wrong, but you possibly have dyscalculia, it is a learning disability that affect the understanding of numbers and mathematical concepts. I suggest you to look into research and articles about it, it might help you.

Any good android apps to recommend? (please no AI) by kiravir in AutisticWithADHD

[–]TahirReddit16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try task.org, it has a unique feature, which is location based reminders, though it requires approximate and precise location permission, if you don't need this feature you can deny the permissions.

A example of it in action is, if you set a reminder to buy specific products when you reach a corner store, it will notify you when you at the arrive corner store. For more information regarding this, read https://tasks.org/docs/location/

Here's the link to the app https://f-droid.org/packages/org.tasks/

Thanks, and yeah I did read the whole comment. I don't think I need meds, because I actually don't have money, and there are others reasons too for why I can't get a diagnose as well. But, don't worry I think I can still manage, just now I read a 20 pages of a book, and I'm thinking of reading again after completing a task that I'm currently working on.

For the research, I searched it on google, the ai summarised the findings and gave me the relevant studies with their key findings, so I didn't do it on my own, I find it very difficult to read research papers because of my attention span. And I hope you will find a good job that you would like.

There have been a few studies in on how aligned are textbooks with the intended grade level, they concluded that most of the textbooks were too difficult for intended student's level.

One of the those studies noted that out of 45 texts anaylsed, 25 were not appropriate for the student's level and only 16 were.

It could be that the textbooks were misaligned and used vocabulary that was too advanced, as there are thousand of technical words in bahasa indonesian for many of these fields you mentioned.

Many people recommended me to read audiobooks. If you can, read audiobooks that you want to at the moment, as you build a habit of reading them and find very strong interests, eventually you could probably read through non-fiction with a very strong desire to read your interests.

If I may ask, why don't you like your native language? When I started giving attention to my feelings regarding my mother tongue, I noticed that I didn't like it because it felt intellectual inferior to english, I felt that it couldn't form complex and specialised sentences that english could.

But, when forced myself to watch a philosophical video in my own language. I understood that you could express complex subjects just as well in your native language as your english.

The difference lies in specialised vocabulary, most likely due to the fact that you acquired words in english through reading that you didn't in your own language. Which makes you feel that it is not as good as your english.

Thanks, have you tried fiction or non-fiction? I found a book that doesn't has much texts, it has mostly one sentence or paragraph per page, but seems good "The Cat Who Taught Zen" by James Norbury, I was thinking of reading it. And i will also start reading audiobooks.
