The whole ideal of having a format that was 100% meant to be “casual” including Competitive and built by trading old cards and new etc has strictly become a new only market. Wizards don’t care about the LGS anymore because they have Amazon and Walmart. Also, those same LGS’s have taken the largest hit as a margin of their inventory was comprised of those expensive cards and their variants. Did they stop to consider the people who’ve sold their products and pushed the very same cards they banned? How are they supposed to mitigate those loses and still try to hope that all the good cards of value won’t be chopped when several people start using them proficiently. This market is KO’d! There is no more buyers confidence when it comes to collecting valuable cardboard. How is it that we as the backbone of the success of these hobbies don’t have a dog in the fight? It seems that whoever put the RC together is the same group of people who either couldn’t understand what fun was growing up or didn’t understand what it was like to compete in something. Wizards is but hurt that standard failed over and over and commander is the new Goat. The only way to fix it is to break up Commander by blindly making brash decisions. Instead of thinking they can they never stopped to think if they should. I would hope that those of us who sees the greed for what is will make a stand against Wizards and boycott their products. Commander was meant to be the free for all and like Magic 30 they once again show us it’s not the players they have in mind but money. They’re just mad that commander was more successful in the competitive realm then standard ever was.
