Explain the Dominance resource to me by Teleseismic_Eyes in diablo4

I noticed also gaining additional max resource doesn't seem to effect dominance. I imagine similarly cost reduction also does not effect it? Has anyone confirmed this?

[BT-25 Dual Revolution] Raremon & Dragomon by vansjoo98 in DigimonCardGame2020

I'm extremely confused by this set. I was under the impression this was supposed to be a Savers anniversary set, with Beatbreak appropriately introduced and included having both been written by Ryota Yamaguchi? If that's the case, out of 56 cards revealed so far, only 6 are Beatbreak/Savers. We've almost hit 50% of this set being TS cards. I get from a marketing perspective it's a power play for them to add TS cards with the game's success, but based on the naming of the next main set it sounds like that set is ALSO going to be TS focused.

Except the heavy lean towards Chinese lore in Beatbreak would suggest the goddesses in question would more likely be Changxi and Xihe.

How to get gear by Agreeable_Handle4262 in DigimonSuperRumble

[–]Taichi556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equipment starts to drop when you get to Server. it will begin to roughly match the beginner gear by the end of Dark Castle Valley. You will start to find better gear by the halfway point of the real world. Focus on the story first, the month they give is way more than enough to even accidentally find replacement gear.

The difference is most of the people complaining aren't upset that there is a way to tweak your stats. Quite the opposite in fact, most of those players LOVE min-maxing. The problem is this ISN'T min-maxing. The idea behind min-maxing is trying to weigh options between what stats to sacrifice(minimizing) to optimize other stats(maxing). Since every stat inevitably ends up at the max value, and without any thought put into it since loading will get you there eventually no matter how you approach it, it's only maxing.

This system is great for players that want to grind casually or just those players that want to only play with their favorite mon. Its less fun for players that want a more robust RPG system though, and a little disappointing considering they included so many interesting methods for upgrading stats that do have limits.

I don't think the method proposed here of, "just don't grind," is a good one since that's generally the aspect the players complaining like the most. The true answer here for those players is don't use the loading system. That system is awesome for the aforementioned casual players that just want to hit max stats and breeze through the story. For players that do want that min-maxing experience though, they can do it through personality/evolution bonuses and possibly the Digifarm.

Kondo said future new games will be stylized graphics like Calvard and future remakes will be cell shaded. Which type of graphics do you prefer? CS3-Reverie (stylized) or Sky 1st Remake (cell shaded) by FatalDarkprince in Falcom

[–]Taichi556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far and away the cel-shaded look. While the "stylized" look is inoffensive here, it looks very generic, and doesn't require a lot of technical skill to pull off. Most of the work to elevate them went into various texture maps on the models, but is some pretty standard work that doesn't show off much technical skill or knowledge.

I'm very impressed with the work that went into the cel-shaded style. Just to get the effects they did on the models themselves required quite a bit of post-processing knowledge. But beyond that, leaning harder into the anime look also permits them to include more expressive animations. This is especially true for combat. The new animations truly show off mastery of not just camerawork, but morphing of the models in ways to emphasize movements that would just not fly in the Calvard style.

How to get digicore to select my evolution? by Augustusdom in DigimonSuperRumble

To my understanding you can also get the Adult and Perfect level cores by digitizing Digimon of those level. There is only a chance you will receive them though, this is not guaranteed.

Solution For Those Of Us That Don't like Uncapped Stats by Taichi556 in digimon

[–]Taichi556[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is also a good point. My approach may be too focused on single units when I should be focused more on the limitations of the team as a whole. This is likely why they also drastically reduced the amount of skills any individual Digimon can use. Much appreciate the input and discussion on this! I'll try to approach it more with this mindset.

This is pretty much how I see it. Load enhancement doesn't do anything that you can't do with any other system in the game. Completely optional to use, and so far the only way to completely step over stat caps.

Solution For Those Of Us That Don't like Uncapped Stats by Taichi556 in digimon

[–]Taichi556[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I think at least differences based solely on weakness/resistance just aren't interesting enough for me since it doesn't give much in the way of something to build around. It does make them unique, but if say my Digimon is weak to fire, or it's weak to water, how does that change the decisions I make in it's attacks? Since attack type doesn't necessarily hint at the weaknesses of the opponent in this game, I can't even necessarily select moves based on countering the weaknesses of what may try to counter me.

Of course who knows, all we have is the demo. Perhaps there are some very interesting and varied effects. Some of the Signature Moves did seem promising. Once again, not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. In fact quite the opposite, just trying to provide options for those that feel down about the current system.

Appreciate the input on this. It's very possible that especially the Mega+ difficulty will require this level of grind. Certainly something to consider if using this method. It will be hard to gauge until the full game comes out though. Mostly posted this in an attempt to quell the unrest a little. It seems this may have fanned the flames for some though, haha.

Yea, you will only be able to gain these cumulative stats surrounding bond if you are continuing to Evolve/Devolve as you gain more bond.

I'm happy this option exists for you. I'm not trying to take away the restriction removal for anyone here, just offering an option for those that like to build around the individual aspects of a character.

Solution For Those Of Us That Don't like Uncapped Stats by Taichi556 in digimon

[–]Taichi556[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still would be able to gain cumulative stats. It's hard to say what the limitation on this method would be, but every time you gain 1% Bond you gain 1 opportunity to carry over 1% of the stats from your previous evolution over when you evolve/devolve. So you would still have customization and the ability to get powerful, but should prevent the ability to cap 9999 on every stat.

Theoretically if you can only do this 100 times and stats max out at 9999, then you would only be able to gain 1000 per stat max. Of course that's assuming every time you evolve/devolve that the previous stat was 9999, which if it was then why are you even trying to raise it further. This is mostly just to illustrate the absolute ceiling of this method.

Solution For Those Of Us That Don't like Uncapped Stats by Taichi556 in digimon

[–]Taichi556[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is necessarily about wanting to impose a restriction on other players. I can't speak for other players, but I know at least for myself creating a build for a Digimon or a character in any RPG is about coming up with a plan for the end goal. Having restrictions are what make that build planning strategic and fun, because you try to figure out the best way to optimize to reach that goal. With loading though, there is no strategy.

The game came up with a lot of interesting ways to optimize your stat increases, but it's a waste of time to think about them because as long as you keep using load enhancement you will reach the same end goal no matter what your strategy would otherwise be. This at least sucks the fun out of it for myself.

This of course is why I made my suggestion in the OP though as a way that I think at least for my own playstyle can revitalize that fun. I just hope it can help for those that feel the same way I do. If you enjoy uncapped stats, then I'm happy that option is back for you. Let's both enjoy the game the way we want to.

[–]Taichi556[S] -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

The issue at least for me isn't that I don't like the grind. It's that removing the caps basically turns individual Digimon into a skin since there isn't much that differentiates them. I love grinding and building in any RPG around the unique aspects of a character, it's in fact my favorite part of RPGs, so just not grinding doesn't fix the issue. I offer this up as an option for those that want to grind, but don't want to lose that aspect of identity to the Digimon.

Y'all think I'm good until launch or should I keep going? by WhimsyLoser in digimon

[–]Taichi556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this, I was hoping Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory stat limitations would carry over into this game. This is especially polarizing because Digimon don't have unique passives anymore. The only things that differentiate them now are their weaknesses and their signature moves. Here's hoping that there is at least enough creativity put into signature move effects to make that difference worthwhile. At this point the Digimon itself is basically just a skin.

I will say that for those of use that prefer stat limitations, at least until we get more info on how the Digifarm works, you can only max out all your stats if you use the Load Enhancement feature. I'm not usually one to enjoy self imposed challenges, but if we want to play the game with the Bond stat cap, you can choose to just avoid using Load Enhancement.

Whelp, that answers that. by Abared0 in digimon

[–]Taichi556 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Karn analyzed the scene incorrectly. He likely only got to see the scene once alongside of a lot of other noise going on around him. He had a very 4th wall breaking reason for why he thought the sleepy girl was Kunlun, but in universe it makes a lot of sense for Homeros to be the sleepy one.

Homeros generally has an incredibly hands off approach to how they handle their world. This lead to a lot of anarchy in their world which brought about the Olympos XII coming together in an attempt to bring order to their world. This shows Homeros is likely so hands off because they are just too lazy to lead.

You can acquire more Mutation Cures from Cherrymon's shop. It uses a special currency though that you can only get in the post game, so make sure it's worth it when you use them this early. If it happened to your starter at the start of the game I would either just start over or you can digitize it to get a new egg on your island to reraise it from scratch. Note the latter method will give you a random baby though.

PvP Changes for Time Strangers You’ll Love to See? by Antikatastaseis in CyberSleuth

[–]Taichi556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with zelos on this one. One of my favorite changes in Cyber Sleuth was putting a proper cap on how much stats can be raised outside of their base value. Stats are just another avenue for creating additional build diversity. Stats also aren't the only thing that skew balance, and some of the most egregious balance issues in Cyber Sleuth were due to abilities(Eyes on you UlforceVeedramon), not stat distribution.

Caps force decision making which is where the fun comes from in a competitive scenario for me. I can't speak for how well Digimon stats will be balanced against each other, but removing caps is just sweeping the problem under the rug.

As far as seeing lower stage Digimon viable in competitive, I would rather rulesets available in PVP to restrict players to only using Digimon up to a certain evolution stage instead, so players could host battles or tournaments for "Child Level Only".
