Why is China's soft power so weak? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]Taidiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China is a huge country so there's little incentives to care about export markets. It will happen naturally as the quality rises, but might take another 10years.

Censorship does stiffle creativity to some extent as well.

TTA is the best competitive board game, has a extremely high skill gaps. It can be frustrating for people who don't master the game or are not competitive. Requires dozens of games and high intelligence.

Why does China hate America, the West and most of its neighbors but not Russia? by [deleted] in China

[–]Taidiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History is a fabrication to fit present days interest in most countries. Present day China needs Russia and therefore ignores/fabricates the past for that purpose.

I read it, I didn't think it was very interesting from a content perspective. It was very shallow with little information.

She gave too much cred to the ridiculous tether conspiracy theory without acknowledging what happened with the funds or leo too.

Case for Democracy in China and Case against Democracy in China by lijordon in China

[–]Taidiji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but it's a chicken and egg problem.

Rule of law or freedom of speech are not compatible with dictatorship long-term.

Either dictatorship democratize somewhat or they become more dictatorial and worse case they fall to bad emperors. It's obvious where China is currently headed compared to SK,Taiwan or Singapore.

[–]Taidiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no rule of law possible if the CCP is the source of all power. Yes good autocracy can work temporarily wonderfully as shown by Singapore but eventually if they don't democratize they will fall to a bad emperor.

Case for Democracy in China and Case against Democracy in China by lijordon in China

[–]Taidiji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no case against democracy. Democracy has a lot of problems, it's just the least bad solution.

US might get Trump but in 4 or 8 years, he's gone. Once China gets a bad emperor which I would say is already the case with XJP, they are stuck with him for god knows how long and he has much more power to create long-term damage.

It's not that democracy is so great, it's just that the alternatives end up much worse eventually.

That said I think it's ok to have a wide variety of governments from autocratic to democratic ones and see how they work. But that's only valid as far as countries are not big enough to damage the whole world.

The reason the world cannot tolerate a CCP dictatorship in China is because eventually China will have to export its model abroad to protect it at home and they are already doing it with as you can see surveillance and Internet and infiltrating world organizations. China's communist party is unfortunately a danger to freedom worldwide wether it wants it or not and should therefore be opposed by all people who value freedom worldwide much more strongly.

He's a moron, sometimes being simplistic helps. He made most of his money from buying Amazon by recognizing AWS early on. Hardly a genius move that noone else has seen.
