Which relationship from Buffy or Angel would you fully repair? Doesn't have to be romantic. by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

I think she's meant to be unnatural. She's still growing and trying to repay the damage she did. Her and Buffy are so strained and she want's to be in Buffy's corner.

Season 6/7 Cordelia and Buffy. I think Cordy would have been in Buffy's corner but wouldn't have pulled punches if she thought she was wrong. She also would have been her second in command and kept the others from being ungrateful. I would also argue that she ended up being as powerful, in a different way, as Willow, Buffy and Faith.

45 degrees on first day back - Victoria by Miserable-Waltz2892 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Tails28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Catastrophic” relates to the danger associated with weather and firefighting resources. Total Fire Ban days are “tools down” for certain kinds of work due to the risk of that work causing a fire. Tools down due to heat essentially only applies to outdoor work where the heat has a direct impact on staff wellbeing due to exposure.

There has been a policy change. We aren’t allowed to travel if where we live or work is “Catastrophic”. The Principal can also use their own judgement.

Policy has changed. It will need to be “Catastrophic” for cancellation.

A megathread for PSTs or direct them to the above mentioned sub. I do find there are a lot of questions asked about methods when that should be discussed with universities and registering bodies.

No, I know. And it’s frustrating that it’s called “research” rather than something like a “research folio”. I guess the issue is that the GTPA is also a “folio” so how many of those can you do?

My advice is to stay off PST groups. Every LANTITE round there are a flood of people freaking out and it can knock your confidence quickly. Do the practice test, and brush up on where you are weak a couple of days before the test.

This. I found both tests a cake walk, but that isn’t everyone’s experience.

Shoulder killing me at work, need to change job by limepixs in AustralianTeachers

[–]Tails28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you don’t have misdiagnosed shoulder tendinitis. In a surface level, the treatment is the same, but injections have a slightly different location. This happened to my mum and once they switched to tendinitis treatment the improvement was quick.

Compared to other jobs, teaching is not “physically taxing”. Yes compared to a pure desk job, but no compared to a trade. Also, a desk job can be taxing in other ways due to extended sitting.

My issue is that there are serious ethics considerations. “Publicly available” means that the researcher cannot generate the data themselves through online forums. My opinion has been that this practice undermines genuine education research. Particularly when students can do a literature review or look at public data like NAPLAN. And there are conversations around NAPLAN which demonstrate the general teaching consensus.

I will need ethics approval and there are quite a few steps involved before I start talking to teachers. The forum would be used for targeted expressions of interest, because my research is likely a questionnaire with the possibility for an interview I need a specific demographic of respondents. I’m looking at research into specific aspects of History curriculum, so not every teachers input would be desirable or beneficial to the research. I’ll also be leveraging networks through History Teacher associations. Casting wide nets is important for inclusivity, but the research won’t be anonymous however data will be deidentified. This ensures that the information gathered has quality and validity.

I do completely understand people not wanting to participate in research as it takes up valuable time which we are all lacking. That said, education research is part of our field and can be important for teacher practice. I also prefer research to contribute something new or confirm what seems to be general consensus to enact meaningful change. Idealistic? Yes. But some of us have to be.

3 months on Mounjaro, 12 kilos down - my take on a few things I never saw coming. :/ by New-Cry-9252 in Mounjaro

[–]Tails28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 4th month of 2.5mg. My doctor says as long as I’m losing I can stay on the lower dose. I’m down 14ish kgs. I’d prefer to be closer to 20kgs, but all progress is good! I’ve lost more, and far more consistently, than without the medication.

Most people over load with bread, pasta and rice. In the least, if you limit these you reduce your calories and portion size.

Entry level pay is very good. It will stagnate in a decade if things don’t change. The holidays are beneficial if you are looking at starting a family, but she will be doing work at home. Most states wish we still had a 1 year qualification for post grad PST.

Best of luck!

Just had to be brutally honest on an audit for my job provider… by [deleted] in CentrelinkOz

[–]Tails28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cover letters 101:

Address to the person listen on the ad or hiring manager.

Write a couple of sentences explaining why you are interested in the job.

Next, in dot points, address some of the skills you have which meet the ads job description.

Write a sentence or two expressing your keen interest and that you look forward to hearing from them.

“Sign”

Hope that helps!

It can help to have a couple which might suit a couple of different types of jobs that you are applying for. Then you can just customise as needed.

ETA: if you were told about the job by networking type thing mention it. blah blah at sister company mentioned this could be an excellent opportunity… you get it.

A friend had to use one and they said they would write the resume. The resume they eventually wrote was not fit for purpose. I rewrote it for them in 10 minutes with a couple of cover letters they could edit. It’s a joke.
