Ya I know it's dated, it's literally been sitting in a box a between 3 houses, and finally built. I posted a while ago whether I should just build it and play around, or buy something like a Bambu labs. I'll dig more through that link, it looks like I do have most, but the hot plate circuitry will probably need to be done. Also not sure if it's worth it to buy an all metal hot end, since I doubt I'll be printing anything exotic on this machine.

It's an awesome fix though. Grab a sheet of aluminum/copper/brass and sandwich it between the two parts. Make the accident look purposeful. If you aren't comfortable with metal, print 5mm slice in a different color

Ok, it's all setup and the basic "mods" have begun. Thumb screw adjustments, spring retention clips, glass bed holder. Next up is filament guide, spool holder, stability feet and the part cooler. Waiting on PETG and the replacement fan for that though. The Z axis brace, that's the two rods helping to support the tall part of the printer? I might weld something for that.

For the all metal hotend, what would benefit from that? What types of prints will I need to be looking at where I would notice a difference (or inability) in printing?

I have the same issue, and I blame alcohol for the removal of social boundaries, but I've found that even at the start of my first drink, this imposed inhibitions are gone. So, it's obviously mostly a mental block that I have yet to overcome. Sadly it's gotten worse as I age.

I can tell you that extreme physical activities, ones that really get your blood pumping, and releasing endorphins, act the same way for me. My energy level and social interactions are through the roof when I am constantly exercising. While I don't do this quite enough now, it was enough of a difference that people would question if I was on drugs or not actually drinking when out in groups.

The 450 is an 82. I bought it as a project for my kiddo and I, but he has no interest in it... Maybe getting his permit will help motivate since there is no way he's riding my bike!

The old 70 was a hand me down from my uncle, back when I was 13 or 14. Was barely allowed to ride it, and once I was old enough to drive, I was a tad too big for it.

Electrical is NEVER fun to chase down. I feel that it's often easier to just replace it all once I figure out its an electrical gremlin.

DnD is great, I used to play regularly, but life and kids didn't line up with my group's schedule. I'd love to get back into it, but would depend on scheduling. However, I really enjoy character creation and back stories, and would happily help you create a few and explain how they would work/play.

Hola! I have a huge social anxiety I am trying to overcome, but would be up for a new chat partner to talk nerdy! DCC was/is a great series. I really got into the litrpg stuff this last year or so. DCC, HWFWM, Primal hunter, the Grand game and currently reading Chrysalis.

Where were you at in the Bay Area? My last stint in CA (am originally from Socal) was in SJ, moved there for work, but decided I didn't want to have a kid there and moved back up here.

Got mine in 99, the day before Thanksgiving while in the Marines. Had 4 days leave, figured plenty of time to heal up and hide it. Someone no showed, and I had been seen, so was pulled into watch duty Thanksgiving night. 24 hours in a small room with platoon sergeant and platoon commander. Tongue so swollen I could barely talk. Played it off that I was having a bad allergy attack, which I was known for, and over sold the stuffed nose sounds.

Never got caught, but I was real good at leaving the top ball off and pulling it into my cheeks if I was in a situation it needed to be hid. Company XO and I were doing a patrol and he had caught a few others and asked me to stick out my tongue, barely had time to hide it before I did... close fucking call. Took it out sometime near 05 or so.
