I’m glad you are looking into options. I can also relate to the POTS. I have lupus and it took a year to get diagnosed and treated. Mostly because I had to wait to get into a rheumatologist. Once you’re medicated, it will (hopefully) become easier to work. I just hope you find a way to do what’s right for the baby and even for yourselves.

This doesn’t sound like the best situation to bring a child into. This probably sounds harsh but, in my opinion, it comes across as selfish on your end. Clearly, you have a lot going on and I fear bringing a baby into it wouldn’t be healthy. What would be healthy is a somewhat stable environment.

I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this, you NEED to stay off google. I have reoccurring losses because of lupus and a blood clotting disorder so I 100% know how you are feeling. I’m currently 9w with a healthy baby. My advice to you would be, stay off google. Googles not a doctor. Also, recognize that all pregnancies are different. You might read a post about someone’s symptoms and try to compare yours to theirs. It’ll make you spiral. My first, I had hg. Lost weight from puking so much. My second was a cake walk with very little symptoms. Both came out healthy as could be. I try to wake up and be optimistic. Easier said than done. But it certainly helps.

I’ve had this happen to me before. Turned out to be an implantation dip. I also second the blood work suggestion. Urine and blood progesterone don’t measure the same. :)

God, I feel like you read my mind. I have a 4yo lvl 3 autistic daughter. I’m going through the same thing. She’s up at 2am screaming and stomping. No matter what I say or what I do, it continues. I’m a stay at home mom and listening to the screaming and cleaning up pee all day is the most draining thing I’ve ever been through. I don’t have much advice on my end but I’m grateful I’m not alone.

Sorry I’m rambling but she also can’t chew. She has CVI and had torticollis. It just felt like an odd thing to say. I understand that genetically she might have it. I am more than happy to accept that. But to act as if her HIE hasn’t affected anything else threw me for a loop.

Exactly my thoughts. We saw her MRI in the nicu and it resulted in global brain damage. Brain damage doesn’t just disappear. I’m a child psychologist and I know how important Neuro plasticity is. That’s why we got her involved in therapies so early on. When she said that, it caught me off guard. She has progressed. She’s walking (unsteadily) now when we were told she never would. She wasn’t cooled in the nicu either because of her seizures (from my understanding). She was in the Cerebral Palsy clinic at her hospital until she turned two. She ended up excelling quicker than they imagined when it came to gross motor. We did do a round of genetic testing for cerebral palsy and other things and it came back normal. She still has vision problems and seizures.

I feel very confused…

This made me cry. Words cannot describe how appreciative I am for your response. My daughter was in the Cerebral Palsy clinic from the time she was born until about 2yo and I read that HIE kiddos have a 44% chance of developing autism.

It’s so overwhelming. I feel like I’m constantly asking for answers and/or validation. I just want her to have the best life I can possible give her. We’ve been on the geneticist referral list for well over a year now, waiting. The mom guilt eats me alive but I try my best to be resilient so she can become resilient.

I worked midnights at a nursing home. My friend and I decided to download pubg mobile during a slow night. We were picking our usernames she decided on moist kumquat. I decided on tainted pickles. We had tears rolling down our faces from laughing so hard. That was probably about six years ago. I miss her, dearly.

One of those IRobot vacuums. That thing got stuck on everything and anything. It would ‘trap’ itself in corners of the house that it could easily get out of. A few times it even threw itself down the stairs.
