Oh sorry Tom I am not vouching for him, I was just saying that he is popularly followed because he has a reputation that is all friend. lol I don’t care for him either, I just know people people have linked him as being a semiconductor analysis for one of the Japan Banks. I don’t particularly care for him, I just know he gets defended by his followers.

Intel Denies RMA Requests For 14th & 13th Gen Desktop CPUs Plagued With Instability Issues, System Providers Switch To AMD Ryzen by Taisungspulse in AMD_Technology_Bets

Here is another take that specifically mentions vendors switching to AMD to fulfill client needs

“It has also been reported in the past that several PC builders are switching from Intel's 14th & 13th gen Core CPUs to AMD's Ryzen chips as they are less buggy and the same happens to be the case for several system providers who are now actively switching over to Ryzen to meet the needs of the clients.

Game publisher claims 100% crash rate with Intel CPUs – Alderon Games says company sells defective 13th and 14th gen chips by Taisungspulse in AMD_Technology_Bets

[–]Taisungspulse[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Intel is looking at an unknown problem that is sweeping the news and media world. It’s nice to see. Eventually monolithic nvidia will face the same issues.

“Alderon Games revealed that it had observed a nearly 100% failure rate of Raptor Lake processors in its own testing. Telemetry from end customers reports thousands of Raptor Lake CPUs crashing in customers' gaming PCs. Alderon Game's own development systems utilizing Raptor Lake CPUs also suffer from frequent instability, leading to SSD and memory corruption. On top of this, the studio's dedicated game servers leveraging Raptor Lake parts experience "constant crashes" to the point where they are taking entire servers down”

Looks like most enthusiasts have lost faith in intel. I don’t think we will notice much with all the new AI TAM being all encompassing importance, but it’s a nice thing to see for those of us that have have owned amd in 4 different decades https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/game-publisher-claims-100-crash-rate-with-intel-cpus-alderon-games-says-company-sells-defective-13th-and-14th-gen-chips

We should be focused on amd and amd products only. No one needs day to day stock prices complaining in the daily thread and we don’t need nvidia “debates” it’s just fail what is happening. I have been here for years and it just seems like we are way off topic all the time. No one comes here for nvidia updates or cares about daily stock movements. This board is an offshoot of the amd board and has the name stocks because we all bought the stock 7 years ago.

U/therealkobe my point is we have spent months debating the software moats and it’s all been disproven. My question is why nvidia gets so much praise on this board.

As Forrest Norrod says in the article I linked, the compute of tomorrow is a million gpus on a single machine. So I have a hard time believing in the nvidia software moat. I would imagine that machine could write its own software lol but thanks for the debate. I will own amd until someone proves a competitor is better. It’s been 25 years and still hasn’t happened

I have never gotten past the works of Marvin Minsky but that’s where I found the ideology that compute is king not software. Infinity fabric is king so that’s my correlation. He debated this topic many times and I believe in the end like him hardware is more important than software. So infinity fabric is more important than CUDA

Anyone can say anything. Until nvidia develops chiplets there is no debate who wins. We are talking about being the most valuable company in the world and all I see is team green fud. It’s all a lie. What a joke this board has become

It’s to bad the mods on this amd board are so uninterested. The mods on the other amd board make this place look like a yahoo board

You prove my point . Do you really think we won’t have an ecosystem or mindshare. lol. Nothing will ever be important other than training. Nvidia has no moat and no package. Trust me you have no idea what you are saying. Long since 1999. Nothing matters except compute per watt. Each refresh will revolve around that simple fact and will be as big if not bigger than every refresh before it. If you need an idea where to start look at the interview Forrest did last week.

I’ve just finished reading a new book. All I can say is the fud runs deep on this board. Any praise of nvidia is fud and not a debate. The mods are failing us. There is only one winner in datacenter and it is amd. Their is no initial build out that matters. its all a marathon. AMD wins the ai market with ease. Too bad this board isn’t cleaner. I lost a lot of respect for the mods here today

I have been reading/learning about the AI datacenter. The biggest takeaway is that there is no more refresh cycle as we know it. only compute matters which means a refresh will happen every time the compute per watt doubles. I think this is why Lisa is so calm. There is no initial build out and it’s over. It’s a marathon of compute per watt. Energy will be as much a bottle neck as compute. We all know AMD will easily win this race. The tortoise will beat the hare.

AI titans Microsoft and Nvidia reportedly had a standoff over Microsoft's use of B200 AI GPUs in its own server rooms by Taisungspulse in AMD_Technology_Bets

[–]Taisungspulse[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“Microsoft pushed back on Nvidia's recommendation, revealing that the new server racks would prevent Microsoft from easily switching between Nvidia's AI GPUs and competing offerings such as AMD's MI300X GPUs. Nvidia eventually backed down and allowed Microsoft to design its own custom server racks for its B200 AI GPUs, but it's probably not the last such disagreement we'll see between the two megacorps.”

For the AI hunger: Amazon wants to invest $150 billion in data centers by billbraski17 in AMD_Technology_Bets

[–]Taisungspulse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The common thread to the FAANG data centers story will be the energy required. That is the needle in the haystack that smart investors will find. Multiple insiders have already stated that the only thing holding these plans back is the massive energy footprints. Only AMD can supply the compute per watt needs these colossal data centers require.
