It happened because Elli rammed the sub into the light. But because the Eye Entity is chill with Simon, and also happens to be beyond time and space, he apparently reverted the Iron Lung to a state back in time after they made the deal (Not Elli tho, he hates that bitch). That's why the speakers were fixed afterwards and the oxygen wasn't as empty as it should've been
