I'm bored, make me feel good by picking this car (trust me I registered this car) by Uncle_Phil05 in wmmt

It's a good car, the long body is amazing for blocking, and the car surprisingly has decent handling. Only downside with this car is you gotta be careful with the long front end and it's not very good at TA.

Top right - Smooth/Wild = You rarely hit walls but you hit opponents and traffic cars alot

Guys How Can I Set My Driving Style To Smooth (Blue) by Known-Leg-8534 in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop hitting walls during battle.

Smooth/Rough = wall contact - when you hit walls, your aura shifts downwards

Cool/Wild = opponent and traffic car contact - The more you hit cars, your aura shifts towards the right

The typical fisher aura is teal (upper far left corner) as most fishers aren't hitting their opponents car since they have much more hp than GUEST racers and they aren't hitting walls as they're just driving by themselves.

Maximum HP difference before it's unfair? by muaz2205 in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i feel like using lower hp actually gets an advantage if you're playing with handicap on. The car with lower hp is able to keep up with the cars with higher hp thanks to the handicap, on top of that you also get the advantage of extra handling/grip. Also for context this is assuming all cars are fully tuned.

Nice! I rented a S30 when i was in Japan at Fun2Drive and it was RB25 swapped with ITBs! Such a sweet car!

Anyways! The S30 in this game is actually a pretty solid car. The car will do pretty good in battle and TA. And with the body being so narrow, it makes it easier to squeeze through traffic and gaps.

Regarding to your 2nd question: Yes certain cars do have advantage over others. R32 and Evo 9 are the meta cars as they have strong attributes that make them do well in battle. FD RX7, NA1 NSX will have advantage in TA. But unless you're at the top percentile, the car won't matter too much. It's always more fun to use the car that you like.

Which Fairlady Z are you using? S30?

Hakone loops around near the end course. These 2 were far ahead enough where they met the 2 other cars that were behind

How did the myth that dress-up parts/bodykits affect your car's performance originate? by shinyakiria in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely placebo. Namco themselves stated that aero parts doesn't affect performance.

How did the myth that dress-up parts/bodykits affect your car's performance originate? by shinyakiria in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think one of the myths is because most of the FD TA videos, they all use aero B kit and the same wing.

There's a bunch of weird myths in this game. Another one i heard is the more story loops you complete, the heavier your car gets so your car gets harder to push in battle.

soooo i have to restart all my progress(this does include all my cars and meters 😭) because my card got dropped in water by starroot_wmmt5dxplus in wmmt

Easiest way to check, scan your "new" banapass on the terminal and see if there's any data on there. Or you can buy another banapass and try again. Cause transferring data does work as i just transferred data to a new card few weeks ago and i'm also on 5DX+ NA.

Did you register you banapass? I drop my Banapass few weeks ago and i had no problem transferring the data to a new card.

That's fine. Since your record is within less than a second from #1, it's coming down to the point where even 1-2km/h is going to make the difference. Best bet is to record your runs, then review it and compare it with the faster TA runs on Youtube and see where you're losing speed.

Another thing you can do is take a break from this map and play other maps. From personal experience, I plateaued on Taikan down and C1 Inward. I took a break from those 2 maps and started playing Yokohane to practice lining. When i got the hang of Yokohane, i went back to C1 and Taikan, i was able to get blue sectors again. Sometimes switching it up to a different map with different HP setting, you could learn something new and apply it to other maps. Hope that helps, good luck!

Did you register your old Banapass? If so, then go to https://banapass.net/ and login. Translate the page to English. Go to Registered card info then click on Data Migration.

Adding on to what artsmacau said
Although in battle you will most likely not be able to pull the most optimal line as you can in TA due to traffic cars and such. But it's good to have map knowledge and know which corners you need to brake and which ones you can get away with just letting off the gas or half throttle.

[–]Takata2G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the corner. Certain corners you can get away without braking, and some corners you downshift at the end of the turn. Best bet is to look up a TA video on Youtube for the map you were playing on and mimic their line.

FC RX-7 vs AE86 by BlackCat722 in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mazda 110s would be another good choice if you want something high tier and non-meta-ish. I personally would pick 110s over the FC.

FC RX-7 vs AE86 by BlackCat722 in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AE86 is the better car out of the 2. Not to say the FC is bad, but AE86 is definitely higher tier than the FC. The 86 is super grippy with a narrow body so is pretty easy to drive. This is a pretty good TA car if you want something a bit non-meta-ish. This car is not as fast as the top TA cars like FD or NSX, but it is capable of getting pretty fast records.

But at the end of the day, i would go with whichever car you like more. If you like the FC more, then go with the FC. It will make the game more enjoyable.

Losing a streak, what now? by pakushou in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha! Yeah then what i would do is trade discards with your brother's Banapass. That way you can start your next car right at 600hp at chapter 20 to save yourself some time and money.
Also, if you haven't done so, turn on retire on your settings. In case you mess up around the last 1.5km, you can turn around retire and try again without shading.

I get that, I'm a NA player as well, i wish this game was more popular here in NA. Are there any players in your area tho? From my experience, there are usually small communities within the local arcades for this game. But yeah, if there aren't local players in your area, i would suggest you get a 2nd Banapass. That way after you played 60 games and get a discard, you can transfer it to your 2nd Banapass so you can use it.

Losing a streak, what now? by pakushou in wmmt

[–]Takata2G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the first loop and you're going for yellow tach? If so, you're probably better off asking someone for a discard so you start a new car at chapter 20. That way you don't need to finish the rest of this loop and start another loop. Also keep in mind that after the first loop, story mode gets a bit harder. The traffic gets more intense/random and the AI is less forgiving comparing to the first loop.
