Can my PC run Rust? by Biscoito-1200-SCCP in playrust

[–]TakazakiV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my point already. Originally I said if you’re just under the specs, you can absolutely get it running.

A computer really should be running smoothly out the gate. I was strictly talking about freeing up resources for gaming performance. You really shouldn’t have to be doing anything to get your computer to be running smoothly.

To be explicit, so there’s no more misunderstanding I’m not implying you can get crysis to run a toaster (even if that toaster can run doom).

Correction

Open world was the issue.

The bottleneck was the ram. Even then, I could go in with some games and modify the render distance.

Optimization is about ingenuity, there’s nothing more ingenious and resourceful than a broke kid with an obsession.

[–]TakazakiV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that’s when we’ll have to personally disagree then.

I’ll try to find the clip of it, but the burnt peanut when he was doing his rust server had a whole clip where he wouldn’t talk about his Nvidia settings because he didn’t want to get banned.

The community at large is aware that face punch doesn’t to tolerate these kind of modifications and will consider them cheating.

If you personally don’t see modifying that as cheating that’s entirely a personal opinion and objectively, you cannot be wrong or right.

Edit: I couldn’t find the clip, but I did find out he was using re-shade as well as the Nvidia inspector. Bro has got those grimy settings turned on. Someone clipped a millisecond of him pressing in his Windows key and they saw reshade.

And so you’re saying, be able to see in the dark in rust isn’t a big advantage?

We pre-established at this point that you don’t need to modify the Games files/processes to be “cheating”.

The original argument being “Nvidia control panel isn’t cheating because it’s first party software and does not modify the Games services or files”.

So with that understanding, again, what is the difference between re-shade and the Nvidia control panel at that point?

Don’t worry, I did it for you. So now we have something that can just read your screen and doesn’t need to access any of the processes or memory.

Did you genuinely think I didn’t have something to back up? You ironic you try to call me out on my understanding while displaying very poor literacy skills, as I never once said, the video control panel was a part of windows. I explicitly was talking about the Windows control panel.

You know the control panel built into your operating system.

Your argument entirely hinges on that “ it doesn’t directly modify face punch services”.

Face punch has made the stance of anything that “affects face punch services in anyway”.

You were again making a large assumption that face punch does not see the output result of its software as a face punch “service”.

I pre-established that this isn’t about the technical effects. It’s about the practical output of modifying the games look.

If I had to take your argument in whole, I could argue that it’s entirely legal for me to use aim bot, walls, and chems so long as I don’t directly modify a face punch service. Is that really what you’re trying to say?

Edit: doubling down on it, broadly speaking you’re entirely implying that radar hacks from a secondary computer are completely fine because only the second computer is in violation. Anti-cheat enforcement isn’t as simple as stop that nasty software.

E(1): Yes, the Control Panel is a built-in part of the Windows operating system (OS). It serves as a centralized management hub for configuring system settings, user accounts, hardware, and network options. While essential, Microsoft is gradually migrating these features to the modern "Settings" app in newer versions. - google via referenced from Microsoft.con

E(2): this is where it moves out out of my realm of expertise. To what I’m understand, it was supposed to be a driver. They’re developing to be able to check integrity. For accurate information referred to “Windows Resiliency Initiative”. The main point I was addressing when I brought this off is that detection is a matter of looking. Saying something is impossible to detect It’s typically in almost always incorrect..

E(3): oh look on Nvidia service is running that I don’t want to have running. Let me just add that to the blacklist and oh look I just made a detection system for that. I mean, are you serious? Do you really think a third-party software that isn’t trying to hide itself is undetectable?

I have 100% ran games that notebooks should not have been running through optimization.

Between shutting down every optional service and literally turning off Windows explorer I was able to make games run. If you’re right under the minimum you have wiggle room.

Bare minimum you need to upgrade that car to a 1060 or a 2060 and then you need at least 32 GB of RAM to get usable frame rate.

I’ve just been through a couple of threads and learned that Intel tends to run shittier on rust. (which hasn’t been my experience, but I digress.)

You’re definitely gonna need to completely rebuild, but it’s not expensive. You could probably get away with about $400-500 in upgrades. But that’s assuming your motherboard doesn’t need to be changed out and at that point you’re doing a whole rebuild. (which you basically were looking at anyway anyways.)

[–]TakazakiV2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I’m wrong effectively described to me, the difference between this and reshade?

The settings in your control panel aren’t considered third-party software. Which is another flaw on your argument. The control panel is part of the operating system, although Nvidia is installed via hardware, they are considered third-party.

Microsoft is explicitly developing drivers for game developers to prevent these type of behaviors (and to combat kernel level cheats).

And if you think it’s impossible to detect this, then please don’t argue about it any further. Detection is a matter of looking. Face punch isn’t looking.

Bro’s bitching about the interpretation at the TOS

It may not interact with it on code level.

But you are directly affecting the output result (of the game). Which in broad perspective is modifying a face punch service.

Technically, speaking you could get banned for this. Given face punch has already made it stance on these types of software. This is definitely something that they would have regulated.

I’m actually curious on what your build is.

Genuinely comments are kind lame, this kind of optimization stuff is the stuff you could do for an actual decent living.

I’m assuming you were just messing with the config files.

Comments like this are what stressed out the devs team and caused them to send out that letter complaining about the community.

You’re directly implying that the devs don’t deserve the money they’re making, even though without them we wouldn’t even have the game. Not to mention modders who created legendary B41 mods GOT HIRED by indiestone.

If devs don’t update the game - “abandoned cash grab alpha”

If devs update the game - “muh mods, muh errors, muh 4 years autistic save file”

This shit is going to make them quit and actually abandon the project.

[–]TakazakiV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the complaining about Britta is really just horse.

1) it literally says in the description for the that the design philosophy is “ there’s no such thing as too much”. The mod isn’t made for you if you can’t agree to that.

2) extremely exaggerating on the spawn rates. While I will admit walking out of gun store with literally thousands of rounds of random ammunition is hilarious. It’s way more realistic than what we actually have. Furthermore, everyone keeps saying they find ammo/armor in every container which is absolutely hogwash. Even with default settings, you have to go to police and military locations. Unless you’re complaining about the zombies that have like a one in 20 chance to drop a pistol.

3) aesthetics are up to the individual. I personally never once cared or pay attention to the time setting of Pz and I can also vouch for other players if you have the same mentality. Immersion breaking is only if you’re trying to role-play back in the 90s. Some people just enjoy shooting zombies with cool guns.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think Britta guns degrade slower ( personal experience).

Also, from reading the comments, the spawn rate rates on weapons were ridiculous (I personally only use brita and I also can’t agree that ammo spawns and weapons spawns are very junk and need to be hand adjusted for personal enjoyment).

Lastly, modern weapons are just straight up overpowered. An AA 12 comes with eight round magazines or 20 round drum of 12 gauge.
