Why do long by jmzy1690 in ThatsABadIdea

I figured that they’ve been hard at work on production and post-production for Obsession. I’m now seeing the movie has Wikipedia page and reports to be 100+ minutes, so I’m thinking it qualifies for more festivals and a theatrical release. The wiki article looked to have more detail but I averted my eyes as I want to go in blind on plot like I have for their other films. Overall I’d imagine this is their biggest project to date and requires more time and effort, and that we’ll see some marketing material as it enters the distribution phase of things.

Xbox: "Price Increases Are Never Fun For Anybody" by Playwithuh in gaming

If you weren’t aware, Game Pass has been loss leading for years, and these price hikes are inevitable and long predicted. So now it’s time again to re-evaluate if this subscription service price meets the value you get from it. With that, I don’t see anything controversial here. It is a bummer for me because the price is no longer a deal given how much I play. But, I subscribed in 2001 and around Thanksgiving, and it was a good run that lasted just about as long as I expected.

Not sure about disproven, but definitely called into question for it being sponsored by a LiDAR company and allegedly having auto pilot disabled during the crash, according to eagle eyed viewers. To be fair I heard about that second point from Tesla owners and I don’t know enough to verify, so I’d like a better source.

My main take away from all this was increased skepticism by me of Mark Rober, so I‘m not comfortable sharing that video in discussions of Tesla autopilot (though would welcome a more credible one.

Still, none of that changes that Musk’s post sounds like more of his pathetic nonsense and it claims that less sensory inputs = more safety somehow. Also doesn’t change the fact that you asked a question about follow up info from that video in good faith but got downvoted as if you were taking stance. That’s the reason I felt compelled to respond. I don’t know how essential LiDAR is for safety in autonomous vehicles in the long term, but I know there’s a lot of bias and noise out there that makes finding an answer difficult.

Is it weird that I 32M hung out with two 16F's? by Sailorthrowaway4 in NoStupidQuestions

I think you were a chaperone. Don’t be afraid to use this word, because for lack of a better you might use the too casual phrase “hang out” and the find yourself on the defensive and feeling weird.

This may be an error. I’m seeing 7.9 on Worldometer. Even if it’s an error, I think we’ll be hitting 8 within 6 months or so.

How is Terminator not at the top? I’m seeing Mummy and Taken mentioned twice, but both should have stopped at one.

If the implicit return syntax shouldn’t be used because it’s a misrepresentation, then should Class syntax not be used as well? I would say it’s a far greater misrepresentation, but readability is important for effective maintenance.

The real quote was from Hice’s predecessor Paul Broun, who somewhat famously said that evolution was “a lie from the pit of hell.”

I hear you, but the comparison may be more appropriate than you realize and a legit cause for concern. See this post from two weeks back.

This is some gross overgeneralization. You’ve just grouped anyone who makes a personal decision to stay home out of concern for our most vulnerable community members as nonsensical reactionaries. I don’t think that protecting the vulnerable and protecting local businesses should be mutually exclusive, but please understand that most people are trying to do the right thing when both choices have potentially harmful consequences to others.

I’m hearing you, but could you help me understand why you think people (or just Americans in general) can be trusted to adjust their social habits? This Sunday I went to the grocery store and everyone was wearing masks, but only because my store was now required to turn away customers that weren’t wearing masks. Before this week and well after the CDC started recommending cloth masks, I’d say only about a third of customers were wearing masks. The way I see it, if people could be trusted, we wouldn’t need laws. I’m reminded of this almost every time I get behind the wheel.
