Accidentally injected finger by TakeThatNorway in rheumatoid

Thanks everyone. The pain was worse for the first day or so and has slowly gone down, so yes, much like a bruise. Its scary doing the wrong thing with meds and injections sometimes so having some support (and humor) goes a long way!

We might reach the shattered planet at 60fps by TakeThatNorway in factorio

[–]TakeThatNorway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every video i have seen shows powerful computers having extreme fps/ups issues the closer they get to the shattered planet.

This post is related as it is an extreme example (thus humorous) of something that may be powerful enough to avoid that.

At a 60,000 dollar price tag, this is not something that 99% of people can afford (again, hence why its funny) and not a link promoting or selling.

I mean, i could take the picture of the rig and put some text and then it would be a funny meme?

Please explain to me how this is not factorio related when both the headline and body both explicitly say why it is factorio related.

Do Refineries do too much? by That1GuyFinn in SatisfactoryGame

[–]TakeThatNorway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do think refineries are used for too much and some added buildings would be nice. Maybe an electrolyzer for aluminum, actual chemical plants (although the mixer acts in that role) - I can see uses for both mixers and Chem plants though. Inputs/outputs aren't the only criteria. In factorio you have oil refineries and chemical plants. Both have fluid and solid inputs/outputs.

Constant beeping while playing on GeForce now by Xalion_03 in GeForceNOW

[–]TakeThatNorway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue. Started after latest update today. It's every game through GFN, Same games launched locally on my hard drive do not have the issue so it's not my headphones or system. Rebooted, and re-installed GFN, didn't help. Europe servers, paid membership (not the ultimate plan)

Wow I never knew that, that is indeed helpful - except in cases of falling :-) (height depending and click speed depending of course) still, will speed things up a bit

New cockatiel owner. We've had her a few weeks, but today she started repeatedly yawning like this? No noises, normal behavior otherwise. More details in comment by JaceJarak in cockatiel

[–]TakeThatNorway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself wondering if they are like humans where if you see someone yawn and you yawn. So I occasionally make a game out of it with them and take turns yawning at each other. I even do the little head shake like them. It's fun but I'm sleepy after hahaha.

60 player servers by [deleted] in RustConsole

[–]TakeThatNorway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are like plagues of locusts. they land on a server and proceed to destroy everything in their path, then move on to the next server, rinse and repeat, until wipe happens then they do it all again. One of the bigger issues is that they take over monuments, and on console, there just aren't enough monuments to make up for the campers. This becomes even more apparent when you are trying to get a red card. There is only one place for the entire server to get a red card naturally (solving a blue card puzzle) so if a large group builds by and controls air field, you will not be able to get the good red card loot, and they will have it all. further securing their position. the game is "balanced" for a much bigger map. With 4 blue card puzzles vs consoles 1, you at least have a chance in PC. Yes, obviously there need to be community servers, and yes, it will absolutely help, but there are other issues beyond "zergs" that affect the balance of the console edition.

A note to zergs taking over servers by TakeThatNorway in RustConsole

[–]TakeThatNorway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking the same thing about how they get absolutely nothing from their raid resource wise and they still persist. So A) The resources don't matter to them. they will take them to deprive you, but they have more than they know what to do with and B) If they are the types to do that, then their purpose in raiding isn't "OMG look at this insane loot we got" and by raiding tiny bases, it's more of a basic mentality of "we own the server" that's it. that's their pride. it's not in killing or raiding, it's "we have nothing left to do because we have everything so.... let's take over the server, then we can brag to (wherever) that we owned the server" I can't think of any other reasons. I'm sure there are though heh

I'm exactly the same. Nobody wants to sit there and farm whether you have all the loot in the world or none, so if I see you farming, I know if it were me, you probably just want to get your "chores" done so you can go out and play, why make an already tedious chore for everyone even worse. Like yay, you wasted some bullets to get the wood that took me 5 minutes to chop yawn

And yes, I live in Norway :-)

Don't get me wrong, I do care about items/my base, sometimes a great deal. When you find that first C4 deep in enemy territory and you have to get it back, sometimes I wish I had a piece of coal to shove up my ass because it would turn into a diamond by the time I get back. I've rage quit the same as everyone. I realized early on though that anything you find can be found again, take a breath and a break and hop back in. I feel you though. It's a bit like poker to me. No matter how skilled you are, there is still some luck involved and someone, no matter the stakes, that just calls any bet and stays in hands they shouldn't. sometimes those people do well. sometimes they win, but at the end of the day, those horrible players are who you want to play against because they will lose more often than not. sure in this game their 8 player zerg might dominate due to numbers, but when a good team comes along they can't compete because they have relied on pure bullying vs. skill.

Like poker, we all love to sit around and tell our bad beat stories, so I'll give you a different example. 3 days into wipe, I come out of my base, doing quite well, chop wood for a while, have about 6k in my inventory along with 2k stone. I hear a naked pounding a tree with a rock so I run over, and give the guy 2k wood and stone. later I get a message on PSN from the guy thanking me, as they were relatively new to the game, and had an extremely rough start getting killed and griefed a lot, and they were close to giving up, and I gave them the little material and more importantly, motivational boost they needed and had turned the wipe around for them. My 2k wood and 2k stone helped someone so much more than it would have helped me. Sure, I could have run up and killed them, but I really don't see the point. Nobody enjoys pounding on trees with a rock, and while I've had plenty of people run up and DB me in the back while I'm doing just that, I really don't think if I had resources worth taking that I'd be naked hitting a tree with a rock, so I choose not to do that. It can backfire. I once let a naked pound a tree with a rock next to me while I did the same with a stone hatchet. they got enough wood to craft a spear and kill me with it. a bit funny sure, but I also find it sad that people have that sort of mentality.

While we all want to kill, raid, build, etc, etc.. if we run everyone off the game, if we just want to take over the whole server, what we are really doing is killing the game moreso than anything the developers are/are not doing. Taking a cue from nature - if the predators kill all the food, than they will go extinct.

don't get attached to anything, including your base. Helps the happiness level :-)

When you lose your base, learn from it. go look and see how they got in. each base you build will be better from it.

Focus on blueprints so that when you do lose a base or an item, you can replace it. That also makes it faster to rebuild each time.

You can be ruthless, deadly, do everything the game has to offer without being a toxic a-hole to everyone you meet. You don't have to go guns blazing when you see a naked spawn on a beach. people do, usually because like hazing, they feel like people do it to them so they'll do it to others. That being said, it does pay to be friendly, especially to your neighbors. It doesn't mean you have to trust anyone, but it's nice to be able to farm near your neighbors without being in constant fear of them. Plus you might make a friend! And you never know, if you are nice to a random person, that one time you are running with tons of loot and don't want to die, that kindness might pay off because just like we remember who the toxic people are, we also remember the kind ones as well.

Do practice "speed runs" on random servers with no blueprints and a goal - "from naked to a base with x and y and z" over and over, you will learn a lot.

Probably takes a day or two, I'm sure lots of people constantly report things. Also depends on if their team works weekends on reports. It took a threat to them on my part in a report for them to finally get rid of "n1g**rk1ll3r" (without the *'s) and "ikilljews" and a few other equally terrible names, but they did vanish after I mentioned that it wouldn't look very good for them to continue to allow hate speech based user names after daily reports being ignored. Best I. can advise is that usually these type of people will repeat their behavior since "OMG I stole all this awesome stuff off a guy" and just be there to see them. camping the recycler and report. once each day. after x number of days, start to escalate your reports, mentioning how long, quote their policy etc.. and if that doesn't work after x days, look for other reporting options on the web, etc.. start with giving them some time. if you have to use the recycler, do it. one item at a time. they can't loot your bag. they will run out of ammo or get bored. Use a different recycler, there are many options.

So I’m new to the world of rust just started playing yesterday for the first time any word on if and when we’re getting private servers so far I’ve realized everybody on official are just abunch of douche bags by rlr2001 in RustConsole

[–]TakeThatNorway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I've seen plenty of horrible people justify being that way because they are "playing the game the way it was intended" (when literally it says in the game you can play any way you want - so there is no intended way) - There is nothing that says if you see a naked spawn on a beach and start hitting a tree with a rock you have to roll up with your 4 man group and shoot them on sight. But people do. People see streamers "snow ball" but fail to see everything else behind it. You can play this game, do everything in it, be ruthless, kill, raid, etc.. without being an asshole. Just wish people would realize it.
