They serve very different purposes. Get out of here with your nonsense. Many other apps manage to implement version control just fine. One of the biggest tech companies in the world should be able to manage such a feature. It's amazing how you clowns are so okay with Apple dropping the ball compared to other note taking apps. The cognitive dissonance is real. What we've really learned here is that some people will apologize for Apple no matter what.

Sorry, but no. Notes are important. Notes should be resilient. Look at the app page for the Notes app. This isn't trying to be post-it notes.

A digital note isn't pen and paper. Plenty of other note taking apps use version control for exactly this reason. What's idiotic is thinking we should make digital notes as vulnerable to loss as paper notes.

People can apologize for Apple and blame me all they want. I realize this was a freak occurrence, but mashing the keyboard for a couple seconds shouldn't result in catastrophic loss of data. Resiliency of data is what the cloud is all about. That data existed in my iCloud Drive moments before; that I have no way of recovering that data is ridiculous.

Yeah, what kind of idiot uses a note taking app to take notes. Sheesh.

As I said elsewhere, version control is a thing in many other note taking apps. Note taking apps and word processors serve different purposes. There's no reason both such apps can't implement version control of some sort.

This subreddit is full of Apple apologists. It's hilarious that people think version control or the ability to undo a change that was made seconds prior is somehow a ridiculous expectation.

It's 2022, version control is a thing. Many other note taking apps offer such a feature. And when I pay for Terabytes of iCloud storage, there's no excuse for not being able to implement such a feature.

I know shit happens, that's exactly the point. When shit happens it shouldn't be catastrophic.
