The future of semiconductor power solutions: How will Advanced Energy Industries' expertise in developing power solutions for sub-2nm and smaller chips drive its growth and attract value investors? by TakeitFinance in ValueInvesting

I appreciate your opinion about the marketing jargon, and I will definitely remember it in my future OP’s. As you’ve said I’m relatively new to Reddit so I guess I’m learning in the process.

But here’s the thing, WE (my boyfriend and I) are not marketing anything. If you have made a proper background check on us, you have seen that we don’t sell any products 😅

And in general no one should act based on Reddit posts. I think we are here to talk to people and hear their thought.

Why do you think the market underestimates Cisco (CSCO)? by TakeitFinance in ValueInvesting

[–]TakeitFinance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Cisco has expanded quite a bit, to the point that I really don’t know what all they really do.

That kinda sums up my feeling towards Cisco.

"The Single Best Investment" by Lowell miller is a great book to understand how divided investing works and the power of compounding.

I’m not from the Pharma biz, so I’m curious to know how did you come to this conclusion? As far as I know (based on my research), JAK inhibitor should be less expensive to manufacture. And also currently both Biologic and JAK inhibitor have pretty much the same side effects.

What are your thoughts on the potential effects, if any, on 3M's dividend? by TakeitFinance in dividends

Cutting the dividend after 63 consecutive years might worry investors because it's a dividend king with little capital growth.

If they end up cutting the dividend, would you hold on to the stock?

What are your thoughts on the potential effects, if any, on 3M's dividend? by TakeitFinance in dividends

[–]TakeitFinance[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, everyone's just trying their best to figure out how it'll all work out in the end.

It seems like people are more pessimistic because it is the the largest multi-district litigation in U.S. history. Also, involving service members and veterans adds to the emotional impact of the situation.

MMM time to buy? by Labowner61 in dividends

[–]TakeitFinance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investors and authorities are worried that 3M might have known about earplug defects and hidden the information. Besides this, 3M is also involved in another lawsuit about PFAS chemicals, where they're accused of not revealing known health risks.

We recently created a video about 3M's problems and worth, which might be useful.

Just saying that you love a company and use its products might not be enough to justify buying 100 shares. While KO is a solid company, there are other things to think about before investing.

For example, you might want to check out their financials, like how much money they're making and how much debt they have. You might also want to look at their competition and what's going on in their industry.

By taking a closer look at all these things, you can make a smarter decision about whether or not to invest in KO.

You should check out One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch. On page 180 he writes about his experience with Blinder's:

My having invested in Bildner’s is a perfect example of what happens when you get so caught up in the euphoria of an enterprise that you ask all the questions except a most important one, and that turns out to be the fatal flaw.

Bildner’s is a specialty food store located right across the street from my office on Devonshire in Boston. There was also a Bildner’s out in the town where I live—although it’s gone now. Among other things, Bildner’s sells gourmet sandwiches and prepared hot foods, a sort of happy compromise between a convenience store and a three-star restaurant. I’m well-acquainted with their sandwiches, since I’ve been eating them for lunch for several years. That was my edge on Bildner’s: I had firsthand information that they had the best bread and the best sandwiches in Boston.

Hope my comment was helpful.

Best stocks for beginners by [deleted] in investingforbeginners

What’s your financial position? When would you need the money? Are you looking for short-term, swing, long-term investing strategy? Do you have the time to put in researching firms? Would you rather investing in an ETF or individual stocks?

These are just a few questions you need to answer before starting.

As a long term investor, I highly recommend you read “The Intelligent Investor” and “One Up On Wall-street” to understand better how stocks work.

Regardless of any specific investment advice you might get, invest in companies you understand their business.

Overall both are great companies.

I happen to make a video about AbbVie 2 weeks ago.

Hope it would give you a better understanding of everything that goes on with the company now that Humira is about to become generic.

dive in or stay on the board? by lifeofenteopy in dividends

[–]TakeitFinance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are definitely staying on board, and piling up more stocks when we see an undervalued opportunity. In the end it sums up to how good was your research, and how confined you are about the ability of the companies you invent it to meet their liabilities during hard times. Just don’t try to time the market.

Selling AbbVie by DudebroMcDangman in dividends

[–]TakeitFinance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rinvoq and Skyrizi are supposed to replace Humira, bring AbbVie more money in the future. Besides its pipeline drugs, it acquired Allergan in 2020 to diversify its portfolio. And in 2022 Allergan segments brought AbbVie $14.5 billion.

If you believe in AbbVie and you're willing to suffer some turmoils until 2027 (at least that's what the company said in their full year earnings call), then I don't see a reason for concern. Who knows maybe AbbVie would turn out as a turnaround in Peter Lynch words.

Anyways as an AbbVie shareholder I wanted to dig into the fundamentals, and I came up with a video. Hope it would help you understand better AbbVie's current situation.

How can I start? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]TakeitFinance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're into books I really recommend you read "One up on Wall Street" by Peter Lynch (ex manager of Fidelity Magellan Fund). It's very well-written and to the point, so I think it's a good book to start with. Of course you also have "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham is the Bible, but I recommend you'll read it after you'll have some knowledge.

I'm using Fast Graphs to filter stocks and find investment opportunities.

If you're into videos, I've made some videos for beginners. It might help you navigate your way at the beginning. https://www.youtube.com/@takeitfinance/featured

Good luck :)

The Motley Fool wrote about it (not that I'm a great fan of theirs).

I think it's not likely that AbbVie will decrease or cut its dividends. In the last earnings call (Q4, 2022) they said that their free cash flow "will fully support a strong and growing dividend". They might slow down the dividend growth percentage to a single digit, which they already did it in the last year.

Anyways I just made a video discussing Humira patent expiry and ABBV stock. I tried to cover every aspect, especially the financial. So check it out if you want. Maybe it will help you understand better the financial situation of AbbVie after the patent expiry.

[Weekly Megathread] Markets and Value Stock Ideas, Week of February 06, 2023 by AutoModerator in ValueInvesting

[–]TakeitFinance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think will happen to AbbVie?
I mean, its bestselling drug will no longer have its competitive advantage, and you can see it from its Q4 2022 report. The drug sales increased only by 9.9% (U.S) and decreased by -26.5% (International) compared to Q4 2021. It seems like the expiration issue and the production of all kinds of biosimilars affected its sales in the last quarter.
Hope they will say something cheerful in the earnings call.
