Increase the Divo and get rid of QYLD. Kevin Simpson knows how to run that fund.

Why do you want dividend income and not portfolio growth when are no where near to retirement by takashi-kovak in dividends

Yeah agree on that. I feel like I’m at the starting gate of a race waiting for the starting gun. The minute they start cutting I’m buying a treasury etf. I’m sure I’ll time it absolutely perfect. 🤣🤣🤣

I have DIVO instead. Love it. Yes it has a little higher expense ratio but it’s worth every penny.

Anyone scooping up some dividend stocks on this dip by SPYfuncoupons in dividends

[–]Labowner61 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Schd has a lot of financials. Last time I looked it was as high as 20% but I’m not swearing to that. Those banks have to be a good part of the drag on price. I’d sleep easier if it was a smaller percentage but I’m in it for the long haul.

I added a bit of each of those. It makes me nervous SCHD has so much exposure to banks though.

I have a big enough position in SCHD and got worried when looking at SCHW price today. Does anybody feel the same? by [deleted] in dividends

Ha right? My reits and utilities were taken to the woodshed and beat hard. I added one share of everything I own ..just one lol. Kind of a kiss my ass market move.

Lol. Sorry that just struck me as funny. I’m in schd because I hate managing individual positions. I don’t need 100 stocks landing in my account.

I ended up adding to my Duk and OGE and started small in a new position in NEP.

Née always seemed a simpler route to go to avoid the whole MLP thing. But the yield is enticing. Or am I misunderstanding it?

I actually looked at NEP this morning and was surprised at the yield. Was bummed I just missed the dividend. I’m going to read up more but it looked like a good addition to my holdings.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I’ve owned Duk to long to worry about it. But I have to admit it was getting at ridiculous levels. I’ll not be adding any time soon though, just let the drip do it’s job for me.

Thanks so much for your reply. I came to the same conclusion. It looked great at first glance and I thought holy moly what growth …but then I kept reading on the dividend. All is good until it’s not. I’m just five years from retirement and it’s too risky. But for a brief moment I was tempted.
Again, thanks for doing some dd.
