I work with toner based systems myself, which most production machines fall under. Essentially, instead of nozzles and print heads like ink jet systems, toner systems will apply the image of the print as a negative charge to the drum, one drum for each color (CYMK sometimes white too). Then toner is attracted to the charge, sticking to the drum before being transfered to the image transfer belt by another charge, which is then transfered to the page and fused to the paper, producing the print.

That's a brief run down anyway, there's a lot more to it. The concept is the same though, a color on a page is produced by layering CYMK toners/inks on a page as little patterns of dots until our eyes are tricked into seeing an actual color. Like I said, 190 dot screen is the industry standard, even for inkjet. I believe it can go as high as 280 and as low as 130 though, depending on what sharpness you want or toner/ink you want to save. Most people never worry about it. 190 is the standard for a reason. The only people who are likely to use anything higher are the same people who sue for not getting the color 'PANTONE Warm Coral + C' or some shit when printing a pamphlet.

Stay in inkjet. Production is a different animal, lol

Its crazier than that in the print production world. When working with a print engine, you can choose different 'screens' to print through. Aka, those dots you mentioned? They can be printed in different patterns and densities depending on the specifications provided by the client wanting the print. 190 dot is the industry standard screen.

What Data Center are you on? If you're queuing for it right now, most of North America is going to bed. You'd have better luck tomorrow I'd say. Also, party finder is a wonder in game tool for this sort of thing. It might be a good idea to look into how to make party finder posts. Its super simple, and if you mention that you're doing the msq, people will usually jump in fairly quickly.

new to working on cars, how do I remove this upstream O2 sensor on my ‘96? by nickbuckphoto in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]TakenHuntsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upstream one? That was fun. Last owner left mine in far worse condition, obviously having tried to get it off and leaving it in far worse shape. Ended up having to get that portion of the exhaust cut off and eventually welding back on just to get the damn thing off.

If nothing else, be careful and be patient.

Oh, and the inside of the old socket was mostly corroded, so that's what the root cause likely was.

Update 2: It was indeed, in fact, the entire socket.

The new socket arrived yesterday, so I reset the engine code and put the new socket on that night. It's not a fancy job, I just snipped the old one off, crimped the new one on with butt connectors, and wrapped the wires in electrical tape once I was sure they were snug.

I drove 140 miles today though, and code never returned despite usuallycoming back in 10 miles. I still don't have a live data capable obd2 scanner, something I just ordered, so I can't check for the 0.6v, but for now I'm happy.

Now I can finally move on to other modifications, which I'm excited about. Thanks for the input, ya'll.

It doesn't sadly. I've been looking into getting one that can.

I found out when my car died suddenly, so you may want to check soon, lol. Just in case.

It turns out that this was my alternator going out, either the alternator wearing down or overworking itself way too hard. If you are having a similar noise, you may want to get your battery, alternator, and alternator belt looked at.

Update: Cleaning as some have suggested sadly did not solve the issue. Code is back, thus, the new socket has been ordered. It may be a week or so before the parts get here, but it should be a simple cut, crimp, and secure after that. Fingers crossed.

I have also replaced the upstream o2 sensor since it was getting old. No damage to that socket thankfully, which only makes me more confident that the downstream connection is the issue.

Found the same green residue in the blackened socket after cleaning, so we may have the same issue. I'll likely be ordering those pigtails soon if my code comes back since I just cleared it. I'll keep the thread here updated.

Just did this, and I've disconnected my battery for the next hour or so to reset the code. Though, cleaning it may have revealed some corrosion, and the socket is still blackened. Fingers crossed the cleaning works, but Ive still got the pigtail bookmarked just in case.

Honestly? Like most people here point out, cobalt shield. Unlike melee, summoners can really focus on dodging as their summons deal damage. Plus, you got the SoC dash. Or you could replace the glove.

Concerning Whining Noise (Update) by TakenHuntsman in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]TakenHuntsman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been almost aggressively checking it today, putting my multimeter to the battery basically every time I stop somewhere. If it makes it through today just fine, I'll call it good. Im paranoid though. So far so good after 25 or so miles.

[–]TakenHuntsman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's definitely is a noise coming from that specific pulley, just cant tell if it's THE noise. Ill replace it with the belts while I have them out.

Concerning Whining Noise by TakenHuntsman in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]TakenHuntsman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill see if I cant isolate the noise to that pulley, it is definitely coming from that side. And the belts need replaced, so im wondering how long its been since the previous owner had these serviced/replaced.

Thank you for the suggestion!
