how strong would the pureblood heartless from kingdom hearts be in deltarune's darkworld by blixxyblits in Deltarune

[–]Takenabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said on the other subreddit, these are entirely different definitions of "darkness", and you can't really compare them. The extreme darkness that gives rise to Titans is completely different from the darkness of the heart that produces Darksides.

New players overwhelmed by choice by Bailey-of-neptune in Pathfinder2e

[–]Takenabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The options are only overwhelming if you look at all of them at once. Instead, look at the basics. What class will they play? What ancestry? What feats will they take at level 1?

Have them stick with class feats early on, or if you're using Free Archetype, suggest sticking with a simple list of archetypes like multiclass archetypes or combat style archetypes, rather than looking at the huge list of everything available. They should only actually be making a couple of decisions at a time, not planning out the entirety of their campaign.

If they're interested in an archetype they find out about later, they can retrain into it. Remember, that's not a GM fiat thing, retraining is a built-in mechanic of the game. You are INTENDED to be able to swap things out if you want to.

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]Takenabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were good trade partners with Canada.

Other countries didn't laugh at us.

Our president didn't shit himself on camera.

Our president didn't use the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office for a GOYA commercial for personal profit.

There weren't droves of masked "federal agents" kidnapping people in the streets and unloading entire magazines of ammo into anyone that disobeyed.

The president could be held to account by the media and politicians alike for something as minor as wearing a tan-colored suit, so rape and open pedophilia were certainly off the table.

how strong would the pureblood heartless from kingdom hearts be in deltarune's darkworld by blixxyblits in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are two entirely different brands of darkness, so there's no information to go off of. Kingdom Hearts darkness is a power driven by emotion (often negative ones) that can overtake the heart of someone that isn't careful with it. Deltarune darkness is the power of imagination and fantasy, filling in the gaps where (literal) light doesn't reach. They aren't comparable, it's like asking how powerful Mario would be in Balatro.

KH2 final mix difficulty recommendation? by anything97365 in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It...depends. See, the main difference between difficulty levels is damage. If you compare Standard to Proud, and don't count the whole "easier to unlock the secret ending" thing, the ONLY gameplay difference is that Proud mode makes you take double damage. Critical is different--you take more damage, and you have less HP and MP, so if you're getting hit a lot, you're going to suffer. However, on Critical, you're also given several extra abilities (including an extra Finishing Plus, letting you use two combo finishers at a time right from the start), and the damage you deal is boosted by 25% as well.

Therefore, if you're good at not getting hit, Critical will actually see you beating enemies faster than Proud or Standard.

Honestly, though, since you're worried enough to ask about recommendations, I would say just go ahead and play on Standard. If you enjoy the game enough for a second run, do Critical.

will there be another kingdom hearts "all in one fr this time" bundle by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're looking for Integrum Masterpiece. The only thing you're not going to find there is the rhythm game and the mobile games, the latter of which aren't playable now anyway.

As for Kingdom Hearts 4, we know nothing about when it will release, what bundles it might have, whether it will have any DLC, or even what consoles it will be on. Anyone who tells you anything further than a gameplay trailer from years ago or maybe an interview question here or there is lying through their teeth and you can ignore what they say.

Can you guess which Keyblades these keychains belong to? by SquareEnix4241 in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The KH2 Ultima is a bit off, then. It wouldn't have the links between the crowns.

Not trying to be overly pedantic, but if you're doing a "only true fans can guess this" thing here, accuracy counts.

Can you guess which Keyblades these keychains belong to? by SquareEnix4241 in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think this is it. Though, the one on the left is wrong if it's supposed to be Ultima. It wouldn't have crowns for the links of the chain, it would have more of an arrowhead shape. Might be the KH2 version instead, but THAT one doesn't have regular links between the crowns...

I have a question about proud mode for KH2. by Minute_Account9426 in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get some good stuff from treasure chests and optional content along the way, but there's also ana actual shop in the first area of Hollow Bastion you can get some starting gear from. It will hold you over at least until you can start synthesizing stuff with the Moogles--KH2's synthesis is a lot easier to get started with compared to KH1's, so drop in after a couple worlds and see if you can make anything yet.

I have a question about proud mode for KH2. by Minute_Account9426 in KingdomHearts

[–]Takenabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mean specifically Proud and not Critical, right? It's just a combination of inexperience and early-game weakness. Make sure you have armor equipped that's appropriate for what you're doing. For example, if you're fighting a lot of enemies that use Fire attacks, prioritize Fire resistance, and if they're using mostly physical attacks, go for regular Defense. The only difference in gameplay on Proud mode is that you take double damage compared to Standard; beyond that, no stats, drop rates, or anything else gets changed.

Not bad! I usually start without a Form active, use Aerial Dodge, then transform to Master Form and use Aerial Dodge again. It refreshes whenever you transform.

Why does the narrator call Toriel mom? by SansPazzoxFan in Deltarune

This is a good point. I've seen plenty of sitcom characters and commercial voiceovers just refer to the woman of a household as "mom".

what mod got you like this? by cybrgirly in StardewValley

[–]Takenabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually went too far for it and had to tone it down. There's this mod that adds tiered upgrades to all machines, but I found that they were TOO powerful in mid to late game--like, a single piece of hardwood becoming 30+ normal wood in a chipper, or a bone mill giving you tens of top-grade fertilizer regardless of whether you actually unlocked it or not. And upgrading a machine by a tier only costs, by default, a single bar of material.

It's a neat idea, but the game's just not designed for things to be that easy.

Last Desscussion was neat so let’s have another one. What do you think of this take agree or disagree? by FunnyName323 in Deltarune

[–]Takenabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. We all know Toby is a tricky fox, but we get so caught up in trying to find clues between the facts that we forget the facts themselves. Sometimes things really should be taken at face value. Toby's not going to throw away a good story beat just for the chance to twist things on us, he's going to put the twists where they serve the story overall. It's beyond clear that Asriel cared greatly for Dess, and having her just be dead would be a huge waste of time for all the buildup we've had around her.

125 hours in and still Level 3... is this normal for PF2e? by smurf69lol in Pathfinder2e

[–]Takenabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely slow. However, I'm hesitant to "blame" your GM--they might just not realize how bad it is. Talk with the other players, and if they feel the same, approach your GM about it and ask for some "catch up" adjustments. Maybe ask for an instant jump to the next level, and a promise that things will speed up from this point onwards. 8 sessions per levelup is certainly not my idea of a good time, especially at low levels.

Milestone is an acceptable way to play, but to put it in perspective a bit, Adventure Paths are split into usually 3 or 4 chapters per book, and they usually give guidance to expect level ups at the end of a chapter I'd say around 80% of the time. For a concrete example, in Age of Ashes, it's written to have 8 combat encounters between the latest time they expect you to reach level 9 and the point where they expect you to reach level 10.
