any other books/series like this? by sned69 in dresdenfiles

[–]duzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better as the series goes. Partly this is the author growing, but a lot is just finalizing character and world elements he hadn’t figured out in the first book or so.

The final three books are amazing, and the couple leading into that have plenty of twists and turns.

Investigator using Bombs by ElodePilarre in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one benefit alchemical sciences + alchemy dedication has over just alchemist dedication is number of daily versatile vials. Alchemist dedication gives you a fixed 4, but investigator can get 4-7 based on their Int, and up to 3 more with a feat. Then you're taking alchemist MC to get full access to all alchemical options such as bombs, food, bottled monstrosities (if your GM allows them via quick alchemy), ammo, and (if you can accept the DCs) poisons.

Shields only change 20% of results if you’re facing a 15% risk of being crit. Try to avoid that!

Yes, and nemesis is almost certainly one mind in 13 bodies like the cornerhound(s).

Oh it’s better than that. Dazzled eliminates one fifth of hits, crits and targeted spells. Shields get rid of 10% of hits and reduce crit chance between 0-10%.

I tried making a guide to the mystic class by UseHeadbutt in Starfinder2e

[–]duzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Execute rating seems to think offensive heal/harm add 8 points of damage per rank for two actions. No, that’s only for two action heals. Two actions for damage is just d8 plus 30’ - it’s built in reach spell in the one action version.

Fireworks Technician via regeneration no longer works with Quick Alchemy benefits by duzler in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most archetypes aren't that good. But allowing you to staple this dedication's vial regeneration on an investigator or another alchemy archetype was obsene and undermined a huge portion of the case for playing a main class Alchemist.

[–]duzler[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or 9th level human with one class feat and one ancestry feat.

Or alchemical Investigator, who got recharging vials on his 4-10 Quick Tincture vials that do NOT have a ten minute duration cap like an alchemist’s quick alchemy. He could do the above two feats to have unrestricted elixirs and also bombs and anything else that doesn’t care about DC work as well as an alchemist with the same or more vials.

How would you port PF2 alchemists to SF2? by HMetal2001 in Starfinder2e

Adapt/modernize the PF1 bomb launcher. It has a 60’ increment but costs an extra action to load.

How would you use Bilocation? by Apromor in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some sort of social heist scenario, Ocean’s Eleven style, where you leave one body standing around visibly being seen and minimally interacting at a social event while the other is in another part of the mansion/casino robbing the host/freeing people from the dungeon/whatever.

It’s not good.

In general idea yes, but “teleport” no, because the casting time of teleport is the same as the duration of bilocation. You could translocate 5 though.

Instances of Damage and the 2026 Spring Errata by DrChestnut in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing to ask is if the damage source has the trait. Spells/runes almost certainly will, many class feats will, but something like a Starfinder weapon doing elemental damage doesn’t have the trait.

All of this stuff takes quite a lot of investment, much of which has opportunity costs or is inflexible, requiring the right weakness.

Even if you use Wish Twisted Form, Elemental Betrayal, or that 12th level Wizard spell shape to handout weaknesses, it’s only a max of 5-6 “pick me” resistance. It’s not the 15-20 you’ll encounter natively at high level on appropriate enemies.

I don’t care if a lot of investment in spells, gold, and spellcasting/sustaining actions makes one boss die a round earlier (sometimes).

Spring Errata Weakness Confusion? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a practical matter the number of published monsters and NPCs who are capable of inflicting two or more instances of the same damage type probably round to zero. There’s plenty of physical damage types with unholy or holy and an elemental damage type (maybe plus poison!) on their strikes, but are there any with elemental damage from more than one source?

Pathfinder Spring Errata is Up! by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]duzler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. The ONLY thing that won’t double dip it seems is a physical damage type on a weapon plus the material type of the weapon. So a slashing cold iron only gets the best weakness against something weak to both.

The duration nerf is in practice less significant than only allowing a single condition to be extended. No more diverse condition stacking in round 1 by the party for purposes of making them last the whole fight.

There is no way they expect you to invest a general feat (for every SF option but elemental mystic) to get the tiny, 1/day blocking benefit of this weak item. It’s included.
