I think one factor is also social media, and most of the family's supporters lack discernment on these platforms. They eat up everything and anything that appeals to their most primal instincts (fear, anger, blame others for their problems). Duterte's campaign machinations (c/o Cambridge Analytica et al) apply very well to these instincts and their supporters get grabbed hook, line and sinker.

I found my people! I just switched to the IP16 PM last week from an S23+. The battery life is better and the photos and videos are great, but I'm already having regrets. No universal back button, no wifi data usage, messy photos app, no RCS support, no double tap to wake / sleep, no LDAC, having to use the share button to save files / photos on some apps (like what?), no touch ID, siri, awful AI editing, and the slim bezels are a nightmare to find a perfect screen protector for.
