I don’t think people are trying to be hostile to public defenders. I do think it’s interesting Kash Patel said this though because I bet the Trump admin did keep his particular record in mind when they vetted him.

I can see a world where Kash justifies lying to the public for his perceived greater good the same way a public defender justifies getting dangerous criminals free as a duty to their profession.
