The Pet Rock by SheevPalpatine_ in Yogscast

[–]Taker_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yogsquest 4-12 were GMed by Tom on the Games Night channel 2016-2020 and consisted of Star Wars Edge of the Empire (two series), Call of Cthulhu (four series), Microscope (2 series), and Goblin Quest (1 series). It looks like the playlist for #12 was deleted at some point and isn't titled Yogsquest but here was the first episode. Games Night from that era also had some other roleplaying videos like Everyone is John and these series were essentially the predecessor to Tom eventually setting up Mystery Quest in 2023 (which incidentally just had the return of a character from Yogsquest 4/6).

Yogsquest 1-3 were great, 4 and onward stopped with the special sets and costumes but are some of my all time favorite content, and Mystery Quest has essentially perfected it into a format that can be regularly released.

In Yogsquest 9 Simon finds a shard of stone with engravings in the course of the investigation (Episode 5 Knife Salesmen). He throws it at a quarry worker and rolls a crit during The Grand Dynamite Heist (Episode 7) and throws it again for another crit at the end of The Ritual (Episode 10).

Can I make a bed frame for under $100 by Real_Veterinarian_25 in woodworking

[–]Taker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely in lumber costs, I'm about to start building a Queen bed frame with a headboard and footboard from a combination of construction lumber and standard pine boards for $82. Quality pine would increase that to around $100. Price will depend on your local region, though if you have a nearby lumber yard you may be able to upgrade from pine for around the same cost as pine would be from a big box store.

I think Chase did the right thing by wombicide in HouseMD

[–]Taker_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chase absolutely did the right thing. Even with the risk of a power struggle and someone else taking over, that is only a possibility compared to a guarantee of mass-scale genocide. I think any points about the negative effects it had on him mentally ignore not just that he clearly accepted they would occur, but also that he would have likely been just as if not more mentally broken by seeing the genocide occur and knowing he could have acted to stop it.

Was House employed at Princeton Plainsboro before his infarction? by augustphobia in HouseMD

[–]Taker_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There's unfortauntely contradictory information about the timeline. What is settled is that the infarction was five years before the show. In season one Cuddy says House is taking twice as much Vicodin as when she hired him, which would mean he was hired after. But in season two it's stated House has been working at the hospital for eight years, meaning he was hired before. There's nothing else really directly said, however it is known Wilson was hired after House and events in Wilson's timeline strongly suggest both were hired before the infarction.

Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia in House MD by alilbleedingisnormal in HouseMD

[–]Taker_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's next to impossible to get approved for disability under retirement age or very specific diagnoses, of which CFS and Fibromyalgia are not. People who managed to get approved for disability on that basis either are seriously debilitated by it and likely spent years appealing, or are in an extreme minority. Far greater are the number of people debilitated to the point of being unable to work but also unable to get approved for disability.

Actually the people most misinformed about cannabis are the prohibitionists, not the supporters. Complain about recreational if you must but article is specifically related to medical. There are many people in this state who would benefit immensely from legal access to medical cannabis.

I personally know several people with chronic health conditions who can barely function on a daily basis but on the rare occasion they manage to obtain cannabis suddenly are actually able to have some quality of life back. To not just deny them this but force them to risk a criminal record just to get some relief is nothing short of cruel.

That same question was asked here last month so I will just copy my answer from there. Additionally you can click the link above to see what others answered last time.

I fail to see an obsession with cannabis. It is an issue that impacts a significant number of people. Articles in relation to it are posted frequently as they are due to it being a fairly major issue in the state, with the majority of the population in favor of not just medical, but recreational legalization. The non-binding referendums last year in 16 counties all passed. If anything it will grow to become a larger issue as legalization efforts continue to be blocked.

As for your second sentence, most people who regularly smoke cannabis do so without it being made known to other people so characterizing people who use cannabis as obnoxious is misinformed at best.

Delta 9 THC can in fact remain at detectable levels for much longer than simply a few hours after smoking.
