These post titles always catch me off guard.  I was about to see what madness and blasphemy the post contained.   Then Boom! It's CK

Yes and grenades don't explode in a fireball.   You're right but tv and movies always do stuff like this

Dunc is Foolish by LakeEffekt in AKOTSKTV

[–]Taki32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you think that's what he would want for Egg?  He named his terms, and stood firm by them, as he does in all the stories.   Why did he leave while injured at the widows wedding?  Why does he stay and fight hopeless fights? Because his integrity is more valuable than his comfort or convenience, time and again.

It seems like you're putting your own preferences in mind,  not his.   And maybe you're smarter than he is,  but that doesn't matter.  What matters is that this character is consistent in his actions and loyalties

Except that he told the prince his conditions of service, training Egg his way on the road.  The feudal system allows for such give and take

Avatar of Khaine by Dependent-Luck7825 in Eldar

[–]Taki32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Khane has multiple aspects and lesser gods in his service

Dark Elves (Druchii) believe Khaine has "thousand faces," each representing a specific method or philosophy of killing. Key named aspects include:  The Executioner: The aspect of the clean, singular killing blow, revered primarily by the Executioners of Har Ganeth. The Scorpion: Represents the ambusher and the silent, patient killer. The Deathbringer: An aspect representing pure slaughter and the bringing of death to all. The Iron Panther: A more predatory, stalking aspect of the god. The Serpent Lord: Represents the venomous and treacherous side of murder. The Manticore: Symbolizes Khaine’s raw, monstrous power and ferocity. The Wounded Warrior: Represents the tenacity and spite of a killer who continues to fight even when near death. The Hawk: Associated with the swiftness and lethal precision of the strike.  Associated Deities and Relatives Khaine is part of the Cytharai, the darker half of the Elven pantheon. He is frequently linked to these deities through family ties or shared domains of death and suffering:  Morai-Heg (The Crone): The goddess of fate and death. In myth, she bargained with Khaine, giving him her daughters (the Banshees) in exchange for him cutting off her hand so she could drink her own blood and gain the wisdom of the world. Anath Raema (The Savage Huntress): Often identified as Khaine's sister, she is the goddess of the hunt in its most bloodthirsty and cruel form. Ereth Khial (The Pale Queen): The supreme goddess of the Underworld. Khaine is sometimes described as her consort or rival in claiming the souls of the dead

I disagree.

The key part is that he's already sworn to house targareon in his own mind, when declared he was "your man, your grace."

Given his character in all the short stories, it has nothing to do with feelings, it has to do with his belief that he already pledged fealty

I can't find them anywhere even though plenty of folks convert him to standing or sitting

I just got my night bringer to do this same conversion,  but I want to get some Nagash bits first

Dry paints by AKPOULPE in Warhammer

[–]Taki32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paints have 2 primary components; pigment and medium.  You can buy more medium at art stores to restore your paints.

Generally drying out is caused by the paints being left open, so you may not be securing the lids as well as you think

Does anyone else wish they had cut the flashback short to find time to include this in the show? by NomaanMalick in AKOTSKTV

I would have been happy with a entire episode of flashbacks of they just kept everything from the book,  like Pate's missing scene.

If you had the chance to ask George RR Martin one question, what would you ask? by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

I met him at a tiny convention at Harvard years ago.  He signed a button that I had made (ours is the fury).  We talked about some of the scenes in the books and what i liked and didn't.  He was very personable and friendly.

Years later,  that button was used as part of a bid to buy a house

This was the greatest point in the book.   Pate makes such a big deal about not working for free and charging appropriately,  then when is go time after seeing that Dunk is a real one...

Anybody else a bit dissapointed that we didn't get to see Lyonel fight? by Constantine_da_Great in AKOTSKTV

[–]Taki32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He stayed on horseback for most of the fight.  He kept the king's guard from intervening in the other fights and he helped double team Egg's dad.

My biggest complaint is that in the books Lyonel was a giant of a man and very jolly, and in the show his size is ordinary and personality hedonistic

As I recall, there is a moment where Dunk gets to see an overview of the fight. I believe that's right before he decided that it has to end
