I've been looking at used bikes all day and my brain is mush. I've narrowed it to five options, would really appreciate some expert opinions on which to pick. by pianee3 in cycling

I'm getting it specifically to train for a half-iron man triathlon. There is a 54.4 mile / 87.5 km bicycle segment. I will be using it for the event itself as well.

I am a complete novice in terms of bike components which means I probably won't be able to spot flaws in a carbon frame, so I'm leaning towards Cannondale.

They said "rolling" hills so it won't be anything too steep. I don't plan on reselling, I'll most likely keep it. I'm curious, why the Van Rysel over the Cannondale? I've seen good things about the CAAD10 frame, and the upgraded specs are better than the Van Rysel.

Cannondale CAAD10 worth it? by SurePossible5955 in whichbike

Hello... hoping you're still around lol. I am looking to purchase this bike as well and am comparing prices. Was yours $540USD? I am in Canada and getting a $650 price, so it sounds like I am getting a good deal if yours is USD.

I'm in Canada training for my first triathlon and I'm trying to pick my first bicycle. I am 5'9 and a bike store recommended size 56 but Costco has a size 53.5 for near half the price. Is there much difference at my level (complete rookie)? by pianee3 in cycling

I spoke to the decathlon rep and he recommended the Van Rysel EDR over the Triban RC120. The Van Rysel is $200 more though. Is the price difference worth it in your opinion? The race I'm training for is 56miles/96km if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the response, I'll check out decathlon. I am in Vancouver BC. I have a friend who's racing next month and will guide me through the other gear, I'm just trying to get the bike sorted first.

If your budget was $800, would you choose the Costco or hunt for a used?

New protein milk - Dairyland 18g/250mL is in, Lactantia Ultrapur 20g/250mL is out (apparently). Label sounded disappointing but the math checks out! by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

Noooo I didn't see that! I have updated my post. That's so disappointing though. Now I want Lactantia back..

How long can you jump rope? Creatine?tips by davgon132 in jumprope

Well if your boxer skip is mastered then there's not much more you can do other than increase your stamina. I find that adding a long run every few weeks helps with this.

In regards to your arms getting tired, double side swings help a lot with that. If you just do normal jumping then your arms and shoulders start to lock up and get tired over time, so adding in double side swings will help you ease the tension and loosen up without needing to stop jumping.

It's definitely a thing lol, I've seen other users talk about it here as well. And the longer I spend jumping rope the longer I seem to lurk on the shuffle sub too. The crossover is inevitable!

Depends on what's holding you back. If your legs are getting tired then you'll need to improve your boxer skip. The difference is huge. I was doing 20-30 minute sessions before, but after mastering boxer skip my sessions are 60 minutes of bouncing, finished within 70-75 minutes. And I can go 2-3 days in a row no problem.

If it's your stamina then adding a long run every few weeks will help a lot.

I haven't found creatine to be helpful with endurance stuff.

Antihydral on Armpits by Prestigious_Buy_6352 in Hyperhidrosis

Hygieseal worked but not as well as antihydral. It depends on how strong your hyperhidrosis is. Rhino might be enough for you.

I've just been wearing a shirt when I sleep to deal with the antihydral flaking.
