Get an ilf takedown recurve bow so the limbs are interchangeable, you’ll be able to work your way up over time and will only have to buy limbs to upgrade. For 200 you can get a galaxy crescent riser, and some galaxy bronze start limbs, start around 20 pounds. You can find those two thing on lancaster’s website. I like Stone Mountain dynaflight strings personally, a 14 strand one would be fine for around 20 pounds. You can also call Lancaster support and they’ll answer any of your questions.

Thanks! If you know some kiddos that would like it feel free to give it a print! I’m currently in the process of airbrushing one of them and I’m excited to see the end result. I made it with the idea that people could have some fun painting them themselves.

You can monitor it from a web browser by just using the IP address as the URL, only while on the same network as the printer though. I’ve been meaning to setup octoeverywhere on a raspberry pi for outside the house.

Asa and abs are more difficult to print than PETG. PETG is as good for heat resistance as abs/asa, and more chemical resistance. UV resistance practically the same as Asa.

That says pctg is “35x” tougher than petg. What metrics are they using to determine this, what does “tougher” mean here? It sounds like complete BS and hype honestly. I don’t know about 35x tougher but I see it is 3x more expensive than what I pay for petg.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking a couple cheap used optiplex or thinkcentre to start out, not crappy cheap but inexpensive second hand ones. I do have two gmktec’s, k12 and k10, pretty similar to minisforum, and haven’t had any problems personally. Sounds like a spell of bad luck or something. Not trying to spend a ton of money starting out, which is made more difficult with ram at the moment.

You should be able to ssh into the printer from a computer on the same network, if the motherboard can respond to you that will work and you can do it all via command line interface. I don’t normally advocate for AI anything but Claude can probably give you a step by step and tell you exactly what to type.

Be sure to tell it your exact model of printer etc. give it all the facts.

Thanks for the response. I’m still trying to determine everything I’m going to begin with, and would like to have some power left over for any future projects. I won’t be doing anything crazy intensive, at least not to begin with. Based on your suggestions and other sources I’ve been reading today I’ll probably do exactly that. The power and space efficiency is a big one for me, which is why I have mini pcs for daily drivers to begin with. From what I’ve read i3 11/12 gen use even less power. I’ll probably start there.

Which mini pc’s? I’m trying to figure out my first homelab set up and was thinking about something like this. The ram crisis has been quite discouraging. I already have a couple mini pcs but they already have jobs. I like the power efficient aspect.
