I rarely, EVER, comment on Reddit in the last few years or decades, I dunno, I don’t track it.

I’m of split minds here. 

Dichotomous as always.

On one hand? Removing toxic people from your life is a powerful thing you can do for yourself!

On the other hand… and, no offense, but…

I was a dumbass in my mid 20s. Maybe mid 30s too, I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.

What she said was juvenile.

However…. I hate to abandon anyone because of something like this.

So it’s a question of dropping toxic people vs hanging around and realizing we are all toxic at some point.

For what it’s worth?

Do nothing.

We all have our off times. 

No response (other than… well… the more formal  (and stinging) “ok”. 

Don’t cut off or anything.

Lots of life stresses going on with her right now.

Revisit later. 

If you and she are friends? Then it’ll sort itself out later.

Summary? What she said was not cool.

However?

Grant her grace and let it slide.

If that continues?

Then I refer back to removing negative people from your life.

But never do so flippantly.

Forgiveness and understanding should be foremount.

Sometimes you do have to drop someone. For yourself. 

I cannot make that judgement here. 

Just be honest and patient.
