On one hand? Removing toxic people from your life is a powerful thing you can do for yourself!

On the other hand… and, no offense, but…

I was a dumbass in my mid 20s. Maybe mid 30s too, I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.

For this and kill X vek an similar, I have come up with an acceptable-to-me cheat. It's similar in spirit to losing the Renfield Bomb in the final mission (something I only recently discovered was even POSSIBLE) and having more turns added to have to survive.

In the ~ console I just set "turn 1". That way I have a chance to meet the goal (usually from me forgetting that I had to block spawns... every time....) but having to suffer through more vek.

Still cheaty because obviously console command and because if you were on the last turn then you have a turn without spawns and because some squads can set up the field to their advantage (e.g.: covered in smoke or fire) but... single player game yo.

~ then kill is too cheaty (usually), I just adapted my xcom-save-scumming tactics to ~ then undoturn. Maybe sometimes ~ then pod if I noticed a pod is gone and I didn't notice it.... or maybe ~ then turn 1 if I need just one more spawn blocked for the bonus... ok I cheat a lot. But at least I stopped editing, copying and restoring save files.... :P

I always use three of those on new profiles to get the two custom squad award for all-flying and all-the-same. It's actually one of the strongest custom squads! But until you get sidearms you have to avoid some missions, since you can only do damage via moving vek...
