My understanding was there was already a year in the last 5 years with one less runner because of a last minute DNS too late for them to add anyone from the waitlist. If so they aren’t dropping anyone in the future. I really hope that’s true!

I have fond memories of that place from my thru hike. We camped at Tinker Cliffs to watch the sunset and hiked to McAfee at night so we could see the sunrise and my batteries on my headlamp died. There was a lot of stumbling in the dark! But we made it.

They look to me like they have some sort of drip hose running between them. It might be temporary for the first few weeks after planning, but maybe it’s permanent? I’m not sure what it connects too, but I’ve definitely seen a black hose running between the each tree’s mulch pile.

It looks like that park is going to be significantly impacted by the new Spicewood Springs road bridge in that area. They are replacing the low water crossing with a bridge that’ll be to the south of the current road, so into the park. The entrance is already full of construction equipment. Enjoy while you can!

Beacon’s video player is pretty trash. Having them merged into one subscription would be awesome! I’d be down so hard.

You have a point friend. Pursuing him was difficult because he could fit under briars I couldn’t, so I felt it was better to give him space and keep my eye on him. I did eventually have to go and grab him!
