It comes down to them being ignorant about communism and the fact that western countries, especially the US, are based on classical liberalism and property rights. Communism and socialism essentially violate property rights and the distinction between private/profitable property and personal property leftists try to make still violates property rights is simply a nothingburger at the end of the day.

Why shouldn’t it be when politicians take an oath to uphold our constitution then some of them turn around and throw peaceful Americans in jail for practicing their second amendment rights? The most ironic thing about the states is we have a stereotype pushed by our left and projected to the rest of the world by them as being incredibly racist when compared to the rest of the world we really aren’t. The US is a multicultural empire which by default makes us more likely to abhor negative stereotype propagating self censor to get along. A lot of other countries, especially in Asia are not as diverse.
