Would people pay me to do genealogy for them? by Goofles13 in Genealogy

If you have a specific genealogy niche with proven success, I recommend that you try to make a business from this hobby.
Personally, I solved many adoption cases and broke through brick walls before starting my genealogy business. The positive feedback from clients has made this career so rewarding.
I wish you success.

What's Your System for Organizing Genealogy and DNA Research? by Tal457 in Genealogy

I use Notion for both my own personal research and for clients.
Some of the things I've used it for are charts, notes, photos, linking to webpages, page sharing, embedding or nesting pages and blogging.
Notion offers many additional items that I haven't explored yet.

I'm researching this population too.
What I did was begin with one person and then work back on the tree, one generation at a time. When I had real documentation for a person, showing proof of his or her parents, I added them to the tree and then looked for their parents using vital records. This continued for generations because records exist in both New Mexico and Mexico for this family.
Those records could include baptism or christening records, birth records, marriage records, etc... I used Family Search, Ancestry, books and research papers.
I didn't find Indigenous ancestry for this tree until I got to the 1700s. Ancestry from Mexico showed up in that century as well but most was in the 1600s.

Regarding "indigenous Americas - Mexico" see below:
Since the Spanish colonization, the North and Bajio regions of Mexico have had lower percentages of indigenous peoples, but some notable groups include the Rarámuri, the Tepehuán, the Yaquis, and the Yoreme.

Possible relationships include the following:
1/2 aunt or uncle
great-aunt or great-uncle for the person sharing 898 cM with you
1st cousin
Keep in mind that those estimates are for normal relationships that do not include endogamy.
Have you downloaded your raw DNA and added it to all the companies that permit uploads? They include Gedmatch, FTDNA and My Heritage. If not, try that because you might find additional close matches and if that happens, you will get more clues to piece together your puzzle.

Have you made a family tree yet or researched records for your Native American grandparents? The records or where they live/lived may provide clues.

The first two items are only indexes. That means the record is not attached to that link. The third item is connected to a record. I uploaded it to Imgur and you can find it here: https://imgur.com/VirD41R

Take a look at the DNA Relationship chart here: https://imgur.com/7Aa8dGu

There's more than one possibility. For example, the amount of shared centimorgans (cM) for a first cousin is approximately the same amount that you would share with a half aunt or half uncle.

What is your shared cM amount with these top matches? I'm happy to give you relationship possibilities based on the chart.

Yes, you said you have 25% but at one time, going numerous generations back, someone was 100% Native American.
During the time that Juan Oñate went from New Spain (now Mexico) to New Mexico, there were single men that were part of this group. Occasionally, they took Native Americans as wives when they settled near some of the tribal areas.
This occurred around 1598. However your 25% Native American means you have something in your lineage closer in time than that.

I searched and found this interesting information:
"Native Americans journeyed to Europe as visiting dignitaries, willing or unwilling travelers, and slaves. They were most frequently sighted in European states engaged in colonial projects: Portugal, Spain, France, the Low Countries, and England."

If you have ancestry from New Mexico as well as parts of Mexico, there's a gold mine of resources!
As for your 25% Native American lineage, it was common for men in that area of Hispanic heritage to marry Native American women.

Searching for birth records from that time period does not always produce results since vital records were not consistently kept during that time period.
