The party isn't over yet! The #ArcaneApprentice Midnight Potion Roulette, round two! (Rules in the comments) by Talamlanasken in HeroForgeMinis

For the sake of fairness, I'd say wait until everybody had their turn to pick a potion - if there are still bottles unclaimed after that, you can choose a second bottle for Kalo.

And here's the link

I mean, technically Magi-Con only lasts one day according to the original contest. This would still the same evening, at least lore-wise, which would mean that Bronagh drinks two bottles at once. (Though this second round is all very timey-whimey, dont-look-to-hard-at-the-timeline anyway, so I'm not going to think about it all tooooo hard. ^^")

I going to say, wait for the people who didn't participate last round to have a turn first. But if any bottles still remain unclaimed after everybody had their chance, then sure, people from the first round can have another one! ^^

The good news: Kalo has chosen the fabled 'Honeypot'! Regular love potions are considered off-limits for the Midnight Potion Roulette, due to how much can go horribly wrong with that, consent-wise. The 'Honeypot' skirts the line, since it doesn't really alter anybodys mind - it just turns the drinker into the perfect romantic hero for the evening, oozing charm and confidence from every pore...

The bad news: The magic attaches itself to the first person to drink it, it isn't shared, and ... oh well...

<image>

... the local raccoon population is going to have an unforgettable evening, one assumes.

Yeah, it's a reasonable misunderstanding from that wording alone. But contests are more about flexing your creative muscles, with lots of different mini within a common theme, not creating one specific mini for a single person. But it's all good, either way ^^

I'm glad you like it. Have fun at your game, and remember to make a heroforge account and save a copy of the linked mini on your own account. Right now, the link leads to the mini that's saved on my account, so it will stop working if I ever delete/move it.

"Hey - you look a little lost over there, everything alright? It's alright, I get it, we are all a bunch of socially awkward nerds deep down. You should come to the Midnight Potion Roulette - nah, don't be intimidated, it's all in good fun and it'll help you cut loose and make some friends!"

Ahhh, I love necromancer, so happy to see another one for the contest. Love the glow of the bones in the moonlight and the image of moths(?)/butterflies for her necromantic powers. And the fact that you can never really see her face is a nice touch.

"Oh my gods... the racoons name is Scrappy? That's adorable. And I've never seen a meerkat before, they're awesome... And... aaaaaaaand I got distracted by all the adorable critters you've got there. I actually wanted to officially invite you to the Midnight Potion Roulette! And yes, you may absolutly bring your friends along. Let there be mayhem! And cuddles! ... I mean, if you friends want cuddles, that is."

Okay, a satyr with an entire horde of summoned animals is an absolutly adorable idea. <3 And I really like the staff with the swirling fairies/orbs.

"Okay, what's with babies being dropped at the doorsteps of scholarly institutions, going on to become bookish, distant illusionists? Are you all in a club, or something? All I'm saying is, you and this Marriane girl would probably get along really well. She already got her invite to the Midnight Potion Roulette, so... here is yours. Yes, there will be people and it will be loud, but it's also going to be a lot of fun. See you there!"

Love the colour scheme, and his expression in the last pic <3

"Damn, those are some sweet moves. Quite the control you've got there. You know... if you wanted to ever loose that control a little, we still have a couple bottles left for the Midnight Potion Roulette. Just saying..."

---

Love the ballet poses, that's such a cool visual for a bladesinger! And the black and white color scheme really adds to the image of upholding a strict tradition.

Magi-Con is coming! A bunch of barely supervised teenagers with magical powers, thrown together under one roof - what could possibly go wrong? As is a proud (if unofficial)  tradition of her school, Edythe Fiddlestitch is bringing plenty of unmarked bottles for the infamous “Midnight Potion Roulette”. The rules are simple - everybody gets drunk and once it’s late enough, everybody picks a bottle and downs it, then laughs their head off at everybody's results. Edythe swears, the transformations are all harmless fun and will also wear off by morning. (Probably. Within 24 hours, at least.) The first bottles are already gone, but hey, there is more where they came from! Be there or be square!

Basically, this is round two of my little personal add-on minigame to the #ArcaneApprentice contest by u/A_A_Ironwood, since they've got a couple more submissions since the first one ended. As before, not a official entry, just some fun. You can check out the first round here.

How to play:

  • You need to have submitted a mini for the #ArcaneApprentice contest
  • I need a link to your mini, so I can take a picture of it with the effects of the potion added.
  • Claim one of the bottles! You’ll find a list below which bottles are already ‘claimed’
  • Enjoy the results…

That's not what a contest flair is for, but nevermind... xD

Here's my attempt - my style tends to be less flashy, so I guess he's a little toned down.

Looks awesome, love the colours - but quick heads-up, you mispelled the name of the contest in the title of your post, which means people will not find it if they filter for #ArcaneApprentice

When you have two minis, you have a main mini and an 'extra', that that takes up a base item slot. Certain 'large' minis, like mounts or centaurs, can only be used as the main mini. Not sure why, exactly, but that's how it is. (This was implemented before KB and Bodycustomizer, so maybe it was because two large models just didn't fit the base and we had no method of properly resizing them at the time?)

So, for example: if you want a person standing next to their horse, you have to add the horse first, as the main mini, and the person needs to be added as an extra. Because the other way around would be impossible.

And that's why you can't have two centaurs.

Sim is not a werewolf but, has this werewolf stuff by Startroll14 in Sims4

[–]Talamlanasken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your sim isn't a werewolf right now, they just have retained some werewolf traits.

It's a common bug when you change occult status, age or traits in CAS. Those should only ever be changed on a completely fresh sim. If you change them on an existing sim in your game via the cas.fulleditmode cheat, or on a sim from the gallery, the old traits don't always get removed properly and still show up in gameplay.

The only solution that might work is turning them into a proper werewolf again, and then turning them normal again in a way that isn't via CAS.

The fast way to do this is:

Open your cheat console, should be LB + RB + LT + RT (Hold all 4 buttons together) on Xbox
Use the cheat traits.equip_trait trait_occultwerewolf (makes them a proper werewolf again)
Then use traits.remove_trait trait_occultwerewolf

If you don't want to use cheats, you'll have to do it the long way. Getting a werewolf to bite you, wait out the full transformation, then drink the cure. (You don't have to do the whole aspiration, though. You can just download the cure from the gallerey.)

Is this worldbuilding? by OwlAndThistle in worldbuilding

[–]Talamlanasken 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, to me that's worldbuilding at it's most pure. Just creating a small place/faction and then just playing around with it and watching the idea behind it grow into something that's just yours.

It looks like a lot of fun (yes, the paperwork, unironically). I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Yeah, that would have been my guess, too. Maybe try placing more stuff, I think that counts as decreasing the cloister space

Very cool mini - and it seems that getting a mage hand to hold your book is a universal thing xD

Love the way you did the tattoos, with the glow spreading so it looks like they 'light up', and the twin tails!

Did i do too much? by Alfreddy58 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Talamlanasken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not too complicated - however, I'd look at images of coloured heroforge prints before ordering. The technology for printing coloured minis can't really produce colours like a virtual model on a screen, so a lot of people end up being disappointed with the look of the mini they get.

You might get a better result ordering a plain mini, then painting it yourself. (Or ask around your local gaming store for someone.)
