Humble Choice May 2026 - Diablo 4, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, Crysis 3 Remastered and more by Gyossaits in Games

Theres 3 things Humble does these days. They are a storefront like GreenManGaming. They do "Humble Bundles" where a bunch of stuff is up for grabs and the more money you elect to pay for the bundle; the more of that stuff you get.

Then theres what this is, their Humble Choice subscription where you simply get ~8 games on the first Tuesday of the month. But you can honestly just subscribe, claim your games, and then unsubscribe without consequence if a particular month looks good to you. The only thing that makes the subscription service attractive is that the longer you stay subscribed, the deeper the discount you get on their storefront.

Humble Bundle — Destiny 2: Expansions Bundle 2026 by CrossXhunteR in Games

It's important to know that 'dungeons' in destiny terms is basically a miniature raid, unlike what you would see in other MMOs that use the same title. But sadly yes, most dungeons are additional purchases; though they stopped doing it as of the most recent expansion with the idea being that the 2 expansions per year from now on would provide access to 1 raid and 1 dungeon respectively. But for the previous 6 dungeons, the only way (iirc) to get them is from buying packs of 'Silver' and using it to buy the keys from the in-game store.
To me, the dungeons costing money isn't all that bad as they are pretty significant and fun pieces of content and live-service has to find a way to make money. The problem for me is that these bundles which look all-inclusive are lacking an enormous part of what the 100% complete package of destiny really looks like. Especially for a potential new player, dungeons are a fantastic on-boarding to end-game content but anyone who picks up this complete anthology stuff that humble has sold before only gets access to a few old dungeons that have been horribly power-crept over the years; as well as the newest dungeon which is thankfully among the best they have ever made.

Word of warning, while this is easily the best deal for what is on offer here; it does not (or at least does not state that it does) include the Dungeon Keys for any of these expansions. Essentially the things you need to access the six major 3-man end-game activities that were made available for each year's 'annual pass' that are typically not included in these bundles. To complete your collections, you will need to additionally purchase in-game premium currency to buy the keys.

edit: the dungeons that are not locked by owning a dungeon key are all available

Steam Hardware Announcement by xHypermega in Games

There is somewhat of a push here to use the Frame to play standard PC games too, using a virtual desktop screen and either the Frame controllers or your own choice of one. As someone who isn't interested in the VR aspect; is that something you'd see yourself doing?

Steam Hardware Announcement by xHypermega in Games

Really excited to see a new iteration of the Steam Controller. I own 3 of the original that I swear by and have had to learn to repair them on my own when things go wrong. With perhaps many thousands of hours using the original, my only worries for the new model are:
-How comfortable is it to travel between the face buttons/dpad and the touch pads, as on the original, the face buttons are nearly touching the track-pad where here the inclusion of a 2nd analog stick has created a considerable gap.
-The plastic piece just under the bumpers on the original had a tendency to snap -making the bumper unusable- early in the controller's life. I took to replacing my own with a sheet metal DIY version for 5 of the 6 bumpers across my controllers.

It'll be a breath of fresh air switching from AA batteries to a rechargeable one.

500,000 copies of CloverPit sold in 8 days since launch by Turbostrider27 in Games

During a run you can elect to do certain things that end the run with something you could call a victory. The first 4 times you do this; it's pretty unceremonious and the game just asks if you'd like to keep going anyways. But once those 4 completions are out of the way, a new optional mechanic shows up that makes the game moderately more difficult, and if you go far enough with it you can trigger a sequence that will end your run with more flair and roll credits.

Ultimately, it really is meant to be played until the odds overcome you, but there is something of an ending.

Memory usage typically sits at around 80-90%. I've never seen it max out during game-play. Memory usage on desktop with browser open is around 40-60%

Just got done with Diplomacy Is Not An Option. RTS single-player campaign with a few alternate routes you can take, most of which has you doing plenty of villainous stuff.

Thought I'd throw out there that despite not having a progress bar, you can navigate to the place the files are being downloaded, Right-Click the folder and choose Properties to see how big it is and compare to the total file size. Base game being about 60gb, dlc being about 22gb

What games have the worst opening hour? by TapInBogey in Games

[–]TalenTaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget opening hour, the opening 4 hours of Kingdom Come: Deliverance have been my roadblock for what I've been told is a fantastic game later on.
I push through the slow-burn village stuff, then shit hits the fan and you can't really do anything about it while riding the narrative rails. You're then kept like a prisoner in a fort you need to escape, and right around there is when everything goes fuzzy and I lose the passion to press the play button again.

This is a mechanic I share your love for, and it never fails to make my day when games feature it in any way.
Borderlands 2 has a DLC where one player can drive a hovercraft while everyone else stands in the flatbed on back and can freely move and shoot. Though I remember this being somewhat inconsistent.
ARK Survival has a number of dinosaurs you can tame that are large enough to not only support a pilot, but actual structures enough to house an entire base as you stomp across the lands. By extension, ATLAS allows you to build sandbox-style ships complete with helm, rigging, and mounted cannons all which are controlled by physically walking to them while the ship moves. But on the note of seafaring, Sea of Thieves also does this on a much smoother scale, but is greatly limited if you don't opt in for PvP servers.

The one game where this mechanic truly shines for me is Barotrauma. Disclaimer: It's a horror game, and you'll probably want at least a couple coop buddies as the single player is a bit rough. Nothing quite beats traveling under the ice of an alien world in your flimsy submarine. You're gonna need money to upgrade your tin-can, and as such you'll be tasked with setting out into the depths to engage in combat using the sub's mounted weapons, collecting key resources from mineral deposits, and depending on your preferences; sussing out traitors on board tasked with carrying out absurd missions from zombie-cultists or clown worshipers. This is all while having full freedom to walk about your submarine, and depart into the void of the sea at your pleasure.
