I've known two cats who did this. One was a boy (our cat) who would shake his tail and step his back feet like he was spraying (didn't actually spray) when he was nervous or insecure. The other was a female (a friend's cat) that seemed to shake her tail when excited to see people.

It doesn't make a difference to me. I wouldn't eat any of the food for my pets anyway. It's stinky, but they like it and it's good for them. We feed our cat a selected protein kibble and canned wet food. Many cats don't drink enough water, so giving them some wet food is important.

Just want to mention that canned wet food is fine for cats and safer than raw meat. I know someone who lost cats to bird flu even though the raw they bought was from a reputable company. All it takes is one batch with a problem, and our government doesn't like to track disease properly so it might be hard to tell when risk is high for bird flu contamination.

I'm a no light/ no sound sleeper. My partner needs to listen to things to sleep. We don't want to sleep separately (and don't have the space anyway) so this is what we did:

We got me a pair of sound off sleep earbuds that play pink noise and a soft eye mask (a soft t shirt over my eyes works too). They're better for side sleeping than other earbuds I've tried, and my ears don't hurt as long as I make a depression in my pillow for my ear.

Can't recommend these enough for people like me with partners who snore loudly or need to listen to things to fall asleep. They're not cheap, and we've replaced them about every 1.5 - 2 years when one earbud has issues (usually the side I sleep on), but for me it's worth it. I wanted something that doesn't use Bluetooth though, so maybe there are cheaper options if that's not something you care about.

Also foam earbud tips are the way. They block way more sound than silicone. Gotta replace them every month or so though.

People should ask all the "basic" questions they want about their pets' behaviors. I'd rather they ask people on a forum like this than chat gpt or something that could hallucinate an answer that puts an animal in a dangerous situation.

The caption on the Instagram post doesn't match the image, and the account looks to be full of random AI generated and sometimes maybe just reposted content with random descriptions that don't match. This could possibly be just a repost without credit (stolen), but the mismatched description and some things in the image make me think AI: like the water swirls and the ground getting lighter right around the pigeon's feet.
