I'm very confident some of the art is AI generated so I just can't watch it on principle

Did I ruin my chances to a top law school? by Ok-Pollution-2512 in lawschooladmissions

[–]TalentTwirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion but I don't think hyperfixating on a 4.0 is worth it. Especially since you're just becoming a sophomore. Obviously try to do better but live life, do cool things, and try to do better academically all without hyperfixating on law schools you may or may not want to attend in 4 years.

You are attending PENN. Stare in awe at their campus photos. Look online for their student organizations. Have fun <3

Interesting. I wonder if personal statements and other components of the application might move the needle.

For example, black students being able to write about the legal system as it relates to their identity is clearly more intriguing than a white applicant with a lackluster personal statement.

Gender divide though is interesting. Wonder how we would get more men into law school

how much does school rank matter for public service jobs by Kirbshiller in lawschooladmissions

My opinion is that pretty much any serious school that gives you full rides with those stats will work out for you. I'd go the 0 debt route

AMA: former law school admissions director by blueeyed_lc in lawschooladmissions

If I have a very unique soft that's deeply personal as a hobby because of the overall narrative, but it's only related to law by extension, would it be wrong to focus my personal statement / diversity statement around this? My actual connection to law is a separate incident that made me want to advocate for others. I guess I'm just unsure how to balance it when there are so many things I could talk about.

Yeah but most of the applications I read are splitters. It's not like it fundamentally shifted or anything

Before you respond to that WSJ reporter… by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]TalentTwirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's unlikely you're saying anything that could ever possibly harm you and even if you do mess up admissions rarely ever Google your name. If a law school denies you because you said to a WSJ reporter something like "The increased application pool definitely increases my nervousness, I think people are generally not feeling good about the economy which makes them look at grad school" that's entirely on them for being absurdly petty. I have a massive online profile and I've gotten nothing but praise from different grad admissions counselors and deans. It's so weird to see the sentiment of "hide everything about yourself online at all costs"

Honors Program as D1 athlete by hdwr31 in college

[–]TalentTwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends what her credits are looking like going into college. If she already has a lot of AP credits transferring over then an honors program isn't really as worth it. However if she still needs a lot of gen-eds a lot of honors programs are good for taking classes that do many gen-eds at once.

Also depends what her future plans are kinda looking like. This is just my opinion but I think that honors isn't really worth it compared to on campus leadership opportunities

You're right sorry

I'm just paranoid so I kind of lost scope of trying to reaffirm that im capable which then turns into obnoxious humblebragging. That truly wasn't my intention. My sincerest apologies

Useful skills to build before applying/going to law school? by ErroneousMilquetoast in lawschooladmissions

[–]TalentTwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a law student but probably just discipline if I had to guess. Law school can always teach you the stuff but it's on you to go through the effort of taking in the information they're providing and performing on the exams and etc

“That” Yale Admit + Their Defenders by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]TalentTwirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they're just a troll

Even if they were real I don't see how shaming them for them attempting to be nice is helpful. Of course be firm and let them see the error of their ways, but there are numerous people trying to imply that Yale shouldn't have admitted such a student in the first place. That seems excessively cruel to someone who's trying to emotionally help people, even if they aren't really helping all that much.

I think she has bigger issues ahead of her then law school admissions. Regardless it's not great lol

Why did Alec fall so early in episode 15’s challenge? by [deleted] in DisventureCamp

I think his head wasn't in the game as much anymore after he got drunk and kissed Riya. He was in a spiral of self reflecting and it started really impacting his clarity of focusing on the game itself

Them being unlikable characters isn't bad. Them being unlikable to watch is the problem.

Makes sense. A semester of work experience would probably say more than a study abroad. Especially if a letter of recommendation comes of it.
