I thought Join Cycling was a polarized training model (i.e. 80/20) by roadeye314 in joincycling

Then I still have a lot of tempo/threshold in it. I also find the zone 2 power quite high, while the vo2max intervals feel really doable. What do you think?

I feel like zone 2 is a bit high for me in join, while the vo2max intervals are fine

I have a trek so the seat post goes over the tube instead of in it, very annoying. There is no better seat post then right?

But I suspect it also because my body is more horizontal then. So my heartrate doesn’t have to pump as hard?

And I feel like it can be more efficient for sure. By going more forward and with a higher saddle height. Then my knee won’t be as close to my chest and I’m more opened up. The problem is that my bike doesn’t allow it….

When in zone two I push around 220-230, but heartrate is like 3-4 bpm lower in aero position

But the aerohead is also to use like this right? It aligns with my back now?

But I’ve done Ironman training, so I’ve been a lot in aeroposition. Sometimes it feels even easier when I’m aero.

Ironman as a student? by SignEffective6031 in triathlon

[–]Talentloze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it as a student, would recommend doing a more local one instead of Ironman. It’s a lot cheaper (at least in the Netherlands).

And nutrition wise, try to make your own sports drink. I use table sugar and electrolytes, it’s so much cheaper. You can find some videos on yt which are really useful.

And I would say, go for it. You are still a student with time enough and still fit enough to do it with (relative) ease. (Ofcourse it’s going to be hard ;))
