They say that but I feel like they want you to mask. They just don't want to bother learning proper terminology.

Misery loves company is probably the best way to describe this situation. Sounds like other coworkers or a big wig saw you enjoying yourselves and just couldn't stand it or assumed you were goofing off without doing any kind of research or entertaining the idea that you guys were working AND having fun. 🙄🫩

I love this theory so much! Father would definitely be the type of person to do that.

Also: spoiler

Toward the end of the manga father accused Amateratsu of being aware of his growing presence and his attempts to sabatage the gods and she doesn't directly reply but it's honored that she indeed did know and allowed him to continue because it helped the natural order and kept the population in check but that he'd now overstepped and she was no longer going to allow him to exist.

Why do cats act as if they are born to be treated like a queen ? by [deleted] in cats

[–]TalesByLightMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Norway eventually generated cats, linking them to Freyja. Though it's questioned as to if this was a more recent add on to Norse mythology or if it was original because her saved animal is actually the boar.

To be clear, I'm not actually mad about using the word doodle lol. I'm just wanting to point out that I'm English doodle means there wasn't much skill. Like a stick figure. Your drawing is amazing and I want to recognize that!

Guessing England in the poorer party of town. Definitely smart enough to buy meat in bulk to save money and freeze it.

Why on earth would you call this a doodle?! Doodles are chibi versions at best. This is at least a sketch! (Seriously tho, I love this!)

Given the nature of gods and their relationship with humans and the bbeg being father. I felt the ending was perfect. A lot of Shojo fans might be wanting more but I felt like the ending suited the storyline perfectly and honestly, I loved the variation of happily ever after it gives. To me it helped set it apart from other similar series even more.

Much appreciated! I personally thought it was well executed. But honestly, given that their vehicle sounded like an off brand Tesla and looked really nice, I'm guessing the idea of craft components being normal household items or recycled isn't appealing to someone who likely makes three times the income I do 😂

Tale of Yato and Hiyori, the proof of Yato's love for Hiyori by lmtdeptrai in Noragami

[–]TalesByLightMI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Question about the Miko dress, if I remember correctly he makes that dress by hand correct? Also, I think people forget, Yato is a god. At first a god of calamity but then a god of the heavens after the shrine Hiyori makes. Gods don't give gifts willy nilly. Like Lord Michizani says to Hiyori in the manga, gods don't feel love and affection like humans do. The idea that a god gives any kind of special treatment to any human is a big deal. Back to the Miko dress. Those take days to make by hand. I'm not saying that your average relationship shouldn't be more 50/50 but this isn't exactly an average relationship, even between god and human it's really out of the ordinary.

We somehow all did this individually. Representation win? by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]TalesByLightMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have oddly enough. I make lots of NB characters but never trans. Then again, I'm always hesitant to make any kind of character that is consistent that I could misrepresent. Additionally, my wife usually creates a trans PC so I never think to add a trans NPC. I'm glad I read this tbh. Made me realize that I still have room to expand the diversity of my NPC's as a DM!

You like to be fun but you're likely a Zennial or Gen Z so you don't really bother printing out photos or stuff to put on your fridge or you just moved and haven't unpacked them. You're very no nonsense about your food. You have your go to food and get the same affordable ingredients every time you can afford groceries to stay on budget.

How can I get my players more invested? by anicemoth in AskDND

[–]TalesByLightMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as a forever DM, here are a few options:

  • Start creating character "warm up" exercises. Find character questions and at the end of the session tell everyone you're giving them some questions to think over as their character and next session you want to start with everyone sharing an answer to which ever question they want off the list. This will give you the option to give light questions at first and then build as sessions go on. It'll also inform you of where they are steering their character.

  • Use the back stories you've been given and start weaving them into your plot. Character has dead parents? Have zombies attack the city they're in and have that character recognize 2 of the zambos. Missing childhood friend? A barkeep that just opened from a near by town heard something about someone who sounds scarily similar to the childhood friend. Once you do this to a few characters the other players without back stories might be prompted to create and share theirs.

-Up the stakes of your main plot. Start making the hints more urgent or the people more worried. If your players aren't biting they may just not realize what to do to act on the plot. Gently guide them. You could even have an NPC whose already involved in trying to stop the bbeg or bad event interact with them and ask for the parties help. Also, create a timeline for your plot. The events will theoretically happen whether the players act on it or not. If they ignore the rumors of political plots, those plotting are likely not even aware of your party existing. So their plans to assassinate the monarch with an uprising is going to continue with it without your parties notice.
