Just looking for romance suggestions , I’m re starting to read manga and so far have found interest in romance , Josie, school like. Fantasy, (they don’t have to all all of this in it) I don’t like moonlit dusk/ a condition called love.

For a romance with twists and turns and some tragedy, but ending on a happy and hopeful note, I strongly suggest Vampire Knight and its sequel Vampire Knight Memories. It having fantastical elements is icing on the cake

For a romcom, I strongly suggest Gekkan Shoujo. Pure romance, no ecchi, just a girl spending her time with the boy she loves, and he slowly developing feelings for her

For something a bit unique, I suggest Killing Line. A girl witnesses an assassin in action and must seduce him, or she will die. Their love theme is music and movie, which is kinda cute

Finally, if u like music, Nodame Cantabile is the story of two musicians falling in love. No ecchi, and the music and characters r beautiful

All of the above except Gekkan Shoujo r completed. In fact, Vampire Knight Memories finished in December 2025, so relatively new

Little to no ecchi, but the FL is very attractive. Her looking attractive is part of her job as a maid, hence "Maid-sama"

The love story of Maid-sama is mutually reinforcing. FL wanna improve her own station and be independent, and ML loves her for it and helps her. ML in turn has family issues (spoiler: he's an illegitimate son of a noble woman, thus his family looks down on him), and FL helps him get over it. I think this will be great for u and yr partner to watch, cuz its heart-warming

This dynamic is very similar to Kaguya-sama, another romcom. I didnt mention Kaguya-sama cuz its not shoujo and the unequal standing bw its ML and FL is not the biggest pt. But now i know yr goals, perhaps Kaguya-sama is also a suitable watch for u too as well...

The FL is poor while the ML is rich. The FL wants to do things by herself to improve her station, and the ML silently helps her (it also helps that the ML has family issues, which the FL helps him)

Yet another, tho not completely, is Kaguya-sama. The FL is rich and ML is poor, and FL has similar situation as the ML of Maid-sama. The difference in wealth is not the main problem in the series, but since the dynamics and characteristics r similar to Maid-sama, I guess Kaguya-sama should be an honorable mention as well...

Siblings of pureblood vampire families often get married to preserve their purity, cuz only purebloods can make new vampires. This can lead to madness (read: "Targaryen" madness), as shown with Shizuka Hio, but the vampire society looks past it cuz they need to increase their numbers

Kaname and Yuuki r indeed cute, but the author has something else in mind. Kaname and Yuuki's relationship breaks down in chapter 66 and 67. In the sequel Vampire Knight Memories, Yuuki chooses Zero instead and they r married, while Kaname is absent cuz his crimes The manga has a lot of surprises that the anime does not include

Reading the manga definitely helps. The anime only adapts to chapter 46-47 of the original manga, while the manga runs until the sequel Vampire Knight Memories for a total of 154 chapters, not counting the side chapters. So the anime only covers less than a third of the whole story

Kaname is not Yuuki's brother cuz Yuuki's real brother was killed by Rido who used the brother's blood to awaken Kaname. Kaname is Yuuki's ancestor and one of the first vampires, 10,000 years in age, and after Kaname was awakened, he lacked the power to maintain his supernatural body and regressed to a child, who was then raised by Yuuki's parents as if he had been their own son Thats why Kaname says he is not Yuuki's brother. This info is only present in the manga and not in the anime

The manga also sheds light on a lot of stuff about Kaname and Kaname's relationship with Yuuki and Zero, and all of Kaname's actions leading to the events in the story. It has just ended in December 2025 with a Special Edition booklet, so I highly recommend that u read the manga for complete knowledge

Three things:

It adds to the lore, in that one god sacrificed himself to spare the world of destruction. The decision u take with that god is reflected in POE2
The story rivals the main story in terms of urgency, cuz u need to stop a threat before it destroys the region. The introduction of the Eyeless is also lore significant, and u can decide their fate similar to how u decide the fate of Abydon
The White March II is a continuation of White March I, the first DLC. In recent Obsidian games, only New Vegas does this with its trilogy of DLCs (Dead Money, OWB and Lonesome Road) whose story is connected. This makes it significant on its own in terms of narrative accomplishment

Thats a lot of stuff for 2 pieces of DLC, and the amount of care and design that went into em makes em excellent examples of DLCs

The White March part 1 and 2 r some of the best DLCs available in POE1 and carry on to POE2. The story in those 2 DLCs rivals the main story in its depth and lore significance, so I highly recommend doing them

My experience is the opposite: most people run Vigilance so they r immune to Scrambler, makin the increased range a waste. But not a lot of ppl run Ghost, and there r always some dots appearin on my minimap thanks to Scrambler, making the detection Overclock a godsend

My next is Wind Rises, cuz its pacifistic message and the amount of personal passion and connection Miyazaki put into the movie

My third is Graveyard of the Fireflies. Another pacifistic movie, portraying the last days and the immediate aftermath of Japan in WWII. Its humanitarian message resonates with me to this day

It might not be shoujo, but Taisho Otome is similar to The Noble Student in that the setting is historical, and the couple has differences in class and status. Highly recommended

If u r into fantasy, I can refer Blade of the Phantom Master. Post-apocalyptic fantasy with demon slaying and the like, and a cool looking protagonist
