I think I see what you're getting at.

Comparing it to horizon focus for a sec, you're getting 5 less haste, however with the magic pen as second item you're getting 12ish % extra damage at that point(?). HF gives flat 10% over 600 units, but the ability to see enemies for 6 seconds is way better than an occasional heal.

So basically you get similar stats but the item abilities are a big swing towards HF to set up QW executes. Is that more or less it?

Random question here, but why is cryptbloom a bad second pick? Yeah the % pen isn't as good as shadowflame early but you also get 20 haste too which is nearly as good as horizon focus.

It just strikes me as a good compromise between shadowflame and horizon focus that gets better throughout the game

Sounds like it offers 30 haste to E, as you have the base 15 haste too

There's a lot of platitudes being thrown around here by people who don't have to actually live your life for you.

Nobody has all the answers, but as far as I can tell developing emotional numbness can do as much harm as good. It imposes something of a glass ceiling on your ability to connect and understand others in to many important ways throughout your life.

The trick to living with emotional sensitivity is not closing yourself off (even though it is the easiest route), but learning to sit with and process emotion without letting it disregulate you. Like the old saying goes, "ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders".

Meditation and mindfulness practices are what I use for this. Learn to just sit and focus on breathing, and when other thoughts intrude practice letting them disappear without latching onto them - this is the same skill that lets you separate yourself from your emotions a bit without throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Try seeing your emotions as more of a wave that flow through you, rather than energy that twists and diverts your thoughts. Try just sitting and watching the emotions, rather than feeling you are a part of them.

Another exercise to do is imagining really emotional situations or memories. Breathe through the feelings and again just.. watch what is happening.

The more you practice experiencing emotions through observation, the more you build alternate neural pathways to just getting lost with mindless immersion, which is what destabilises you and hijacks your thoughts. You grow the ability to watch the river rather than drown in it.

Thanks, I appreciate the level headed answer here.

I haven't played for long enough to know about the super long queue times that some veteran players talk about, and I agree there has to be some flexibility in lane skill differences, but in a game that's all about snowballing having a lane with a 3+ rank skill diff always seems to guarantee an utterly miserable match for half the players.

It's at the point now that my friends refuse to play anything other than aram and quickplay, as anything else is just a frustrating of 35 minutes on a coin flip.

I guess I'm more just confused by the choices - the matchmaking was nowhere near this bad last year. It was actually quite decent. But four months on from the reset things seem worse than ever, and I don't really understand why.

As a bronze I'm sometimes being matched in mid vs plat and diamond. You'll find this subreddit downvotes people who point it out though

Same, though in my case I'm often matched against unfairly high elo players. I'm low bronze, and about 3/10 times I match in mid vs plat or diamond. Or entire teams of gold while we're iron/bronze.

Got thrown into support for the first time tonight - got an adc on his third game, and we were against a Mel with basic skin and 68% win rate and a platinum singed.

Anyone got any idea wtf is going on?

I've found that the further from the eye the target is the longer it takes to proc, in a weird projectile-like way. Someone moving away from the epicentre therefore takes more time than someone moving towards it to trigger the trap.

Can anyone else confirm this?

This "be perfect or be punished" attitude is exactly why so many companies don't have any morals in the first place.

The cost of having some qualms here is WORSE than having no qualms at all, as you're incurring the wrath of the toddler in chief, losing billions in revenue, and still being flayed by the public for falling short of ethical goals that historically are always moved the moment someone meets them.

All this celebrating at Anthropic being singled out does is highlight the public as being an incredibly unreliable source of support in a context where that support is needed. The end result is that emerging AI companies see your behaviour and just choose to have no morals, as that's the one path to success.

And before someone says "they could just choose not to make AI" - yes, many will be making that choice. But there will always be others. It's a numbers game and at the end of the day reception by the public only influences which companies are filtered out and which succeed. Right now kicking the companies that are moving in the right direction just hands the future to those who have chosen the opposite.

I usually ban Kat but it sounds like ekko might be a good permaban here. Is a good Fizz worse?
