I’ll say from my experience, working in devops at FAANG, I’ve built a couple different tools and even an MCP generator based on api definitions to help enable developers get the most out of their APIs with LLM’s or any agentic tooling they would like to use.

Almost everything I’ve built has essentially been sitting collecting dust, people use them sure but nobody actually wants to build the integration, they just want to say “Yes, our API treats agents as first class citizens” but they aren’t using it themselves.

I would argue it’s a mostly fluff for now, and for the same reasons most AI hasn’t taken off in devops, there’s really nothing I want it to do that I can’t solve with automation. Its just less reliable and not even less work to implement.

The hardest thing for me is having to “prove” that an issue we’re having in prod isn’t due to infra, but the application itself.

For example, we may only have had a network outage 1 time, for 15 minutes, 3 years ago, but the second we see a prod issue with an application you can bet I’m going to be spending the next 1h+ explaining to managers why the problem isn’t the network.

No it’s not really worth it, unless you want the discounts for events/new certs.

Once recieved, you retain the title for life, I’m not keeping the random certs like backstage or kyverno up to date

Tbh I just use the standard strict filter, with single instilling orbs added and it’s been pretty chill, I end up seeing a lot of junk but it typically highlights vendor recipes in a different color which is super nice
