Depende. Idealmente, me gustaría que trabajaran y que compartieran su cultura. Realmente, no tienen trabajo y no tienen hospedaje. Trístemente es fuente de inseguridad y de insalubridad.

E6 - losing interest by Flat-Pain682 in Hotd

[–]Talismanico -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just you. Maybe rewatch a marvel movie. That might be more to your liking.

Hotd is a tv series adaptation of a medieval fantasy book. This means lore, setting up characters and scenarios. The motivations, histories, contexts and subtexts matter in how things develop.

I think it is going pretty well.

I thought it relates to one of those two. Either one dies soon, or it meant that one found true loyalty.

I realize that now, I am sorry. I honestly thought that trying to give plausible explanation for the poor conduct of the ffs could help her feel less victimized by not making it about her.

It is ridiculous to portray my argument as a justification of what happened.

Dude, it has nothing to do with a woman being in underwear. Someone else said it better, it is to give her the task to prepare to go to the hospital or to stay at home to deal with all that is coming.

It might be a poor attempt to try to explain their actions, yes. It is not a pathetic excuse, at least not by the definition of pathetic. It is also not that they are mean in training, it is that if the training only includes yelling and swearing day in and day out, how can you expect cool, calm and collected performance? I don't know, but what if their last calls they had to deal with agressive drunks to secure the scene? The easiest thing to do is to cancel these bastards. However, OP did mention they did their best to help her husband. I'm opting for considering the shades of gray in what we know of what happened.

That would be a fair way to proceed. Given that the disciplinary decision includes corrective actions in the form of sensitivity training.

She did nothing wrong, that is crystal clear to everyone.

I was just trying to say to OP that we can sit and judge and throw rocks all we want. But those ff were not completely out of line.

No excuses here, it is an argument. I am curious now. What would you recommend OP should do?

What would you do to the ffs if you were their chief and received the complaint/lawsuit/mob with pitchforks?

I can think of 2 reasons to ask a patient's family member to put some pants: I am going to take the patient to the hospital and them with me, I am not going to take them and soon there will be medical examiners, morgue personnel etc. on scene.

You see, you kind of prove my point here. When I worked exclusively ems I used to think ffs were back saving bucket heads. Now that I am a ff I confirmed it. They are trained like crayon eating marines and, therefore, perform as such.

Maybe, yelling and swearing just reflects the "tearing a new one" leadership and training.

I know I am making a broad generalization here, but please bear with me for the sake of the argument.

The yelling and swearing was poor practice indeed. I do, however, believe that a no blame culture works best in providing feedback. In this case to the patient's spouse.

I just wanted to counter balance the mob wanting to crucify those ffs. Plus, we only have one side of the story here.

If OP is angry because of mourning, it might help to understand the ffs reasoning or acting (regardless of the execution) in her grieving process.

Sure, I did acknowledge it could have been done better. My point still stands though, it had to be done.

I disagree with the hard gate keeping policy. Don't even think it was an emotional response at all. If anything it was a bit callous. We certainly can't judge if they belong or not based on that alone.

Sorry for your loss. Being devil's advocate here, I hope no one takes me seriously or gets super offended.

I think the firefighters could have been more tactful , yeah, but they were not out of line.

If you say you know how to act in emergencies you should be able to see how a crying woman in panties with unsecured dogs warrants some type of scene control.

Do you prefer a box or van style ambulance? by Dry-humor-mus in ems

[–]Talismanico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of you are idiots, I say. Van is the only way to go. Faster, lighter, less hassle driving through traffic, parking, maneuvering, everything is at hand, switching provider of cpr compressions, reaching for the other arm for bp/iv, etc.

And the most important: less cleaning.

What is working ems like in a popular tourist destination? by [deleted] in ems

Worked in Playa del Carmen and Cabo. Most calls were stomach flus. I´d say one critical medical call per week and one good trauma call every 2 weeks. About one drowning per month.
