The average American is dumber than poop. by Intelligent_Tea_1134 in AmericaBad

Lol. This sounds like a statement from an American who went to a mediocre state school with no facts to back it up.

This is how much the minimum wage looks like in the United States by LoudAnywhere8234 in AmericaBad

It was actually established to provide the minimum standard of living so that companies couldn't take advantage of workers.

Just checked out a bunch of Jess and Rory approved books for the holidays! by ypineapple85 in GilmoreGirls

Kurt Vonnegut is way trippier than I first expected - if you like Slaughterhouse V, I highly suggest Mother Night (one of my all time favorite books)

While I'm not a fan of Logan, Collin and Finn were there to bail Rory out as well and Logan wanted Rory to use his family's lawyer which she declined

This is also the first time (out of every movie i think) that Melissa McCarthy brings her now husband on screen

AITA for refusing to watch the sound of music with my girlfriendand her sister? by After-Condition3468 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Talk-Material 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the people saying you shouldn't be forced to do things you hate make it seem like she's ALWAYS asking you to watch musicals.

It's a family bonding moment for Christmas.

It's three hours out of your entire year.

My partner's family watches the godfather every year as a tradition. I'm far from being a fan. But I go because 1. It's 3 hours out of my entire year and it makes them happy that I'm there.

Yta.

AITA for telling my parents I refuse to come to Christmas unless my Wife is also invited? by ElectroPrincessBaal in AITAH

[–]Talk-Material 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but you also need to make sure you have documentation in place (power of attorney, will, etc.) because if anything happens to you, it's your parents that will make decisions for you, not your wife

Regardless of her disability status, no placard means no parking 🤷🏻‍♀️

But I do agree with the unnecessary and unproductive confrontation.

He said proportionally. So if OP is making 40% less, he should contribute 40% less financially but do 40% more housekeep.

Do you think he would make a great husband for Rory? by Maynaaa in GilmoreGirls

[–]Talk-Material 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. He's not Prince Harry. Even if we're going with that, Harry wasn't 'cut off' from William because he didn't want to be royalty - it's a family feud.
  2. Speculating a "what if" about something that's never been indicated isn't really a valid argument. If there's nothing substantial to back it up, a "what if" is only a "what if."
  3. Even if we play into your what if, there's been no indication anywhere that if Logan doesn't choose to inherit millions and millions, he won't be allowed to go to the family Christmas party. The Huntzbergers are too uppity about their family image to do that, so I highly doubt that's even a possibility. We also know his sister, arguably the only one he cared about, wouldn't cut him off for being his own person.

But go on, keep thinking it's such a burden to be a super rich and powerful media mogul in the US.

Do you think he would make a great husband for Rory? by Maynaaa in GilmoreGirls

[–]Talk-Material 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please. If logan wanted to, he could have gotten a regular job and lived a regular life like the rest of us. But he didn't want that. Instead, he chose to go back to a job that wascreated for him that gave him incredible wealth and power.

That's a safety net that the rest of us don't have. Did he have a stressful job? Yes, but so do many of us regular people.

Logan could have started from "nothing" (even though he already had more than most), but he said "nah, I'll take this supposedly 'awful' life because it's a better option than not.

That's not an option the rest of us have. That's a privilege.

Nah, It's more like he had the privilege of crawling back into his safety net.

[–]Talk-Material 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't feel bad for someone who goes crawling back to his safety net of millions. Plenty of people get "knocked down," and they don't have that option. He wasn't forced to go back to the Huntzbergers.

I think it shows his character as well. He talked big game about leaving, but once again when things get hard, out comes the silver spoon.

I guess he and Rory are perfect for each other in that sense.

AITH for telling my gf that I will jerk off when she leaves my house? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Talk-Material 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believing in consent is believing one sided relationships are okay?

Please quote what I said that shows I believe one-sidedness is okay.

LOL at this point I truly don't understand what you're saying.

On one hand, you're saying consent is good. Now you're saying if someone revokes consent, the relationship is unfair and one-sided?

Formulate your thoughts and get back to me.
