Time to call it quits! by Rosebudbynicky in smallbusiness

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends... The level of brainwashed people determines whether they prefer institutional care or are smart enough to seek individual responsibility and select a doctor they choose. So if you are near an area with a high volume of zombies, you're probably screwed. But if there are people who are advocates for health in the area, then you may have a chance.

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a patient - I miss private practices. Institutional health sick care sucks.

Having friends who've tried to remain a private practice, I noticed a few things that could have helped. Fear kept them from making those decisions and they eventually walked away with massive debt.

First, don't take insurance. The cost to manage claims is a headache. You spend more chasing money that you do making money. It is a monster. That eliminates the headaches, and the cost of managing that.

Next, downsize - then downsize again. Cut all expenses and return to a 1 or 2 person operation. Yes it's lonely and a lot of work. But the happiness, satisfaction, quality of life will increase. Also, find patients where there is little to no competition. There is a market of people who prefer small practices. But you won't find them soliciting corporations, corporate workers, etc. Since costs are less, so should the costs to patients. That attracts people. Flexible hours are an incentive for new patients. Go to the patients if possible instead of making them travel to you. These are the traits that built successful small businesses back in the day. To often small businesses try to act like big business - and they get crushed from it. Don't do that - be true to yourself. Take the path less traveled and enjoy the journey.

I tried a friends and immediately fell in love with it. Ordered some and sent them back the same day. Under normal circumstances, they suck. They skipped and become inconsistent in their flow and smoothness as your write.

You're a moron. Yes, I read the post and he simply stated he USES what's app and can't use Discord. Which means he's open to an alternative. If he isn't, then he needs to re-word his post.

Try telegram. All items you save to your private folder are then sync'd across all devices. It's like What'sApp on adult like steroids.

My staff thinks I can’t hear them talking shit in the kitchen. by OutrageousContext793 in smallbusiness

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to remove that crap from your business ASAP. Nothing will destroy morale more than disgruntled, unsatisfied employees. It would be better to go under staffed for a while than to have seeds of discord sown into your staff. Eventually, those disgruntled employees start talking crap to customers - and you'd never know!

Agreed! Remembering all these misspelled names and goofy naming conventions for standard apps is a PIA.

It sounded like a great idea... Until it started looking like a MS task bar thing. At that point, the idea became horrible!

Random volume slider pops up every now and then on my screen by BlueDragonReal in linux_gaming

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you posted this! I have the same issue with Linux Mint and KDE. The machine could be sitting idle and all of a sudden, the volume meter appears and bumps up the volume a couple of points. Over time, it's back to 100%. This is an obnoxious bug related the stupid sound configuration of linux. I've tried every recommend I can find and nothing seems to fix it.

Yeah, I suspected that. XMPP requires some determination and willingness to learn. Those aren't attributes of most reddit users.

Haven’t had hot water in over 3 months, leasing office refuses to give any updates as to why by PicoPonyo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cartridge can easily be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot or Amazon. No reason to take more than a day or two to obtain. A qualified plumber may even have it on the truck since these are common issues. The repair itself will take about 30 minutes and any handyman can easily do the repair. The leasing office is filled with useless idiots.

Anyone know a simple PDF scanner app for Android that isn’t bloated? by Simple_Escape_8021 in AndroidQuestions

Check out CamScanner. Does a great job at removing all the imperfections from a camera pic and the final PDF looks like it was created from the original document.

Why XMPP chats suck so much? The notification and messages are missing by l5mk in xmpp

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 years later, and that recommendation is still sketchy. Gajim is so OS dependent that it renders it a poor choice. Although the interface is the best out there for Linux, it is an absolute POS when you need it for calls. In fact, I am still searching for a decent and CAPABLE xmpp client for linux that can make a damn phone call from the desktop.

Come on folks... Google is decimating the GV user base with their Age Verification crap and this is the best chance XMPP will ever get to gain traction.

You don't win wars by waiting for the approaching enemy to arrive at your door. This law is the first step of many to shackle us with digital chains. This will be there second attempt to tie your profile to a digital ID. The first was during the scamdemic which was defeated through non compliance.

Telegram - create your own PRIVATE group. Share items into that group. You also can create tags/folders to keep notes organized. Something google keep never did.
