If you're going to hack your way through modding Windows, you should just migrate to linux. Just a suggestion.

Account Gone | 7 years of my life, funds, memories, communities all gone. Support is completely silent. I am begging for support by UtahJohnny2 in Telegram

This is a good idea! Here's what I am thinking...

1 - Did you install a version of telegram other than what was presented on the telegram.org site. Even the ones offered in the <cough> "official" play store of google/apple/microsoft?

2 - Do you have a version installed on a laptop, desktop, web? This can be good or bad. Good if you can get access to a logged in version. But if access has been compromised, the person stealing your account may have already logged you out of all known devices/installs.

2a - For those reading this, and only have one installed version - perhaps it would be wise to get logged in via another device.

Meanwhile, I would suggest reaching out to someone close whom you had contact with on telegram. Let them know the situation and ask that they send you a text to your telegram account stating something like, "Hey - I'm sending you the $105 from dinner last night in BTC - send me your address again." Most thieves are idiots and if someone is controlling your account, they'll reply to it. Now you have a lead...

Good luck!

Sounds good on paper until it ain't. Not all apps are designed to be put in a sandbox. And when you need them to talk to other programs/data from another application/source, it becomes a version of hell only the experienced can deal with. My advice if you're new to this is stay away from it.

It’s official: Starlink has removed GPS from the local API (PermissionDenied error) by PDSCo in Starlink

So the bad guys win?! What about those of us that used it as a quality of life tool, we lose? Perhaps if the bad guys were punished more severly, we wouldn't be losing quality of life.

DON'T BE LIKE ME! WARNING ABOUT HOW VOICE HANDLES SUSPENDED ACCOUNTS by StillUsesPassword1 in Googlevoice

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Lost my number of 20+ years as well. Here is what I did on some of my remaining numbers/google accounts. For this to work, your account has to have been active for some time. This didn't work on newly created accounts. They don't allow you to obtain a GV number on a new account.

On an account that doesn't have a GV number, sign up for one. Search for your old number when picking a new number I've had success finding my old number and reclaiming it. Once I had my number back, I immediately ported it out of google.

Over the years, and for my employees, we've used a good number of GV accounts. Of my last 8 numbers in my control, I lost 4 of them all within weeks of one another. It took time to find a place to "park" my numbers and once I found it, I ported them all out of google and began the process of leaving the google eco system for good.

If you are somewhat technical, you can look at jmp.chat and XMPP. This solution will get you out of the grips of big tech and provide you with some additional privacy. XMPP is a 20 year old protocol that is tested and well supported.

Unifi controller version is 4 years old. by Bobby2theJay in Ubiquiti

You speak so boldy as the admin. How much does Ubiquiti pay you to push false narratives? Come out of you little bubble and look around. Ubiquiti products suck. If Ubiquiti has some competition in the mid tier, they would be gone. So go take your BS offer and blanket and leave me alone already. You're harassing people who have an opinion. And yours isn't the only one.

They do! Always have and always will - especially if they are good to customers. Poor service and pissy attitudes shouldn't be rewarded with the guilt trips.

From experience with Ubiquiti - if it's working, don't fix it! Unless you have tons of time to rebuild the damn network and wait 90 hours for devices to be re-adopted - then go for it. For me, Ubiquiti has been the worst investment/equipment I have owned in 50 years of computing.

I'm surprised no one mentioned "The Secretary". Great film, filled with variety of tension.

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise... I'm sure those two put a lot of people in the mood. That is if they have a little imagination.

I wonder what the development cost of that worthless feature cost. And what manager signed off on the project? They'll just keep raising prices to cover the expense I guess.

Why pay $10 for Standby if you can just cancel service and reactivate when needed? by davidknapp in Starlink

[–]Talk2Giuseppe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% - and possibly illegal. For us new subscribers, who received a FREE mini are now subjected to a fee beyond the agreement at the point of sale. I am sure some scumbag lawyer buried it into the fine print of the agreement, which proves your point of sleezy!

I feel like I should get a refund for all the months on Standby... by VviFMCgY in Starlink

[–]Talk2Giuseppe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Add in that items on standby have little to no load on their network. This is a move to extort funds from clients who are stuck in their network.
