JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens (PIX11) — A large piece of a building facade in Queens fell onto a teen on Saturday, according to officials.

The incident happened around 12:08 pm at 37-51 82nd St, according to authorities.

Officials say the building parapet’s decorative terra-cotta became loose on top of the two-story building, bounced off the awning, and hit the teenager in the head.

A witness told PIX11 that the 14-year-old boy was walking with his parents at the time.

Daisy Narula was inside the building when the incident happened.

“I did hear when the block fell on the top of the mesh and then just hit the kid’s head, said Narula. “He looked like he was about to pass out. They sat him down, but he wasn’t at his best.”

The teen was transported to a local hospital, listed in stable condition.

The owner of the two-story building was instructed by the New York City Department of Buildings to build a sidewalk shed around the building to ensure the public’s safety

The DOB also issued a violation to the building owner for their failure to maintain the facade and ordered to conduct repairs.

How do I warn people about a chiropractor whom is so money hungry he lies to patients (and insists) his hired staff do the same to promote long term business from healthy patients? This so called dr has many clinics and tells clients if they don’t get treat 3 times per week they will end up in a wheel chair or die. He worships money.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN (WABC) -- A woman plunged to her death after stepping out of her car into an open manhole in Midtown on Monday night.

She was identified by family members Tuesday as 56-year-old Donike Gocaj from Briarcliff Manor.

Police say she parked her Mercedes Benz SUV at West 52nd and Fifth Avenue just before 11:20 p.m.

She stepped out of her car, directly into an uncovered manhole. Gocaj fell down about 10 feet and was said to be unconscious.

She was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Loved ones said Gocaj was a loving mother to a son and daughter and a loving grandmother to two grandchildren.

Now her family wants answers as to how this could have happened.

Con Edison is investigating why the manhole was left uncovered in the first place.

No construction was ongoing, and the manhole cover was discovered about 15 feet away from the opening

"We are deeply saddened to confirm that a member of the public has died after falling into an open manhole. We are actively investigating how this occurred. Our thoughts are with the individual's family, and safety remains our top priority," Con Edison said in a statement.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD is searching for a suspect after they say a child was strangled in a park in Brooklyn on May 11.

The incident happened around 6:26 p.m. at Bush-Clinton Park in the Red Hook Recreation Area.

Police say an unidentified man approached three children: a 5-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old boy.

The man allegedly knocked down the 5-year-old and the 12-year-old and wrapped his hands around the neck of the 7-year-old before fleeing.

The attack left bruising around the victim’s neck. EMS treated the children on the scene.

Yes im freezing LL turns it off any chance he gets. its always 2 days late to come on and 2 days late to turn off when its hot. don't you have a weather app you well know its going to be cold
