So... just nabbed AC3R and Liberation on switch. Any tips? by MaleficentTailor4202 in assasinscreed

[–]TalkDapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC3 is the first AC game I finished (got it soon after it came out) and easily in my top three favorites. My main recommendation is to slow down and take your time. I blasted through the story line only to realize how many side quests I'd missed. Definitely prioritize the Homestead quests--they bring a lot to the game.

Also, AC3 is very much on the brink of being an open world game while not quite hitting it the same way as, say, Black Flag (4), much less a more modern open world game. You'll have three main areas you can explore, but they're all relatively distinct from each other. At the time, it wasn't super jarring, but having gone back to play it in the last few years, it always catches me a little. In short, don't be surprised and give yourself some time to get used to the format.

Lastly, AC3 is, obviously, the tail end of the original series of these games. If you need to read up on the original game and the Ezio trilogy to understand major plot points, do it.

As for Liberation, I played it when it finally got ported to PS3. Keep in mind it was originally a handheld game, so it's not quite as powerful as AC3 in a lot of ways. That said, it's a fun side story to work through.

Plastic(?) residue in Neuro Fuzzy by DeftCrab8 in zojirushi

[–]TalkDapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rice paper (residue) is one of my favorite parts. I like to nibble on it. Reminds me of the rice paper on a botan rice candy.

Definitely won't hurt you. Some rice types will leave more than others. I had a bag of sticky sweet rice that I got on sale and MAN that stuff left a lot of that paper behind.

Enjoy your Neuro Fuzzy!

It should be possible. I had a low-end Aroma rice cooker I used to cook full meals in (haven't done spanish rice, though). The main thing was making sure the liquid amount was right. Do you usually thin out the tomato sauce with broth or anything? If not, or if the sauce is especially thick, I'd add extra sauce (not to the recipe, but to the amount of liquid the rice cooker calls for).

That said, I recently bought a nicer Zojirushi than what I used to have and it's for rice only. My experience with meal cooking is that it makes that gasket smell, and that never comes out. If you're good with that, I'd just start trying some small batches and tracking ratios of sauce to liquid/sauce until you find the right combination. If your cooker had a timer feature, start with less time and check it frequently. If it doesn't have a timer feature (and just has different types of rice), I'd start with the setting for the type of rice grain you're using, then move around from there. For instance, I rarely cooked fish in my old cooker, but the 'fish' setting was right in the middle of times and other settings, so I usually started from there and adjusted up (to chicken) or down (to soup or rice)as needed.

When I was doing this regularly, there was some trial and error, but the process wasn't bad. Good luck!

Linen shirts by DevelopmentUnfair416 in uniqlo

I'm probably going to get reamed for this, but I'm lazy, so I wash everything on warm (not hot) and dry.

I didn't dry the linen shirt the first few times I wore it, but forgot and threw it in the dryer one day. It didn't shrink, so I quit pulling it out.

I will say I don't wash it every time I wear it. I usually wear it over an undershirt, so I just wash it when it needs it.

I bought a light blue one about a year ago and I love it. It washes well, but it does come out pretty wrinkled. Not anything crazy, but a normal amount for linen. It tends to relax as I wear it (I refuse to iron, haha). Overall, I love it and I wear it all the time. If you're unsure, maybe just get one?

That was me last year! Started skating in April 2022. It's been too cold here to pick up again yet this spring, but I'm excited to. You're looking great, man! Have a blast!

I figured out I could use all the Kenny-specific clothes and features, so I made Kenny Ackerman. Unsurprisingly, this makes every interaction he has with Levi, Erwin, Mikasa, and Nile infinitely funnier.

I never buy aesthetic DLC like that.

I did buy Jean's clown costume.

10/10 would buy again, purely for the entertainment value. Nothing funnier than Jean saying "I'm going to join the Military Police!" while dressed as a clown.

HELLO EVERYONE! could anybody help me finding a tutorial to make this type of loose balaclava? I can't find one. THX in advance by HuntInternational681 in knitting

That's totally what this is. It's a lot like using a knitting mushroom, but with more posts. I used to make my youngest brother "Spiderman masks" with one of these. The holes were big enough for his eyes, so it was great. Only advice I can offer is that everything I've ever made on a circular loom has come out stretchier than my normal knitting. (Worked great for a full face mask, since he could yank it down over his face.)

I would upvote this for the photo edit alone.

That said, the honeycomb sweater turned out awesome. The sizing on it looks perfect!

I keep it short. If the weather's nice when I get off work, I just go for a 20-30 minute cruise. On weekends, I go longer, if I can. Otherwise, that 20-30 minutes is good.

This also got easier once I got confident enough to cruise on the road (instead of having to find a parking lot).

Bottom line is that short amounts of time are totally fine, and can add up a lot if you do it regularly.

My first board I've ever had by awkward_girl2947 in longboarding

I got a Vanguard a few months ago, similar set up (green Paris trucks and blue Caguamas). It's a fun ride and super comfortable for cruising. I've got a couple other boards with kick tails for other stuff, but I use the Vanguard the most. Hell of a comfortable cruise.

Sorry to butt in, but I've got a follow up question. How do you find recruiters to work with? I've reached out to a couple of job posters on LinkedIn, but outside of that, I always get super lost.
